Arcanite Magician Deck?

I'm mostly an old school Yugioh player, who hasn't really played since the World Championship 2009 2DS game.

Arcanite Magician is probably my favorite card out of the newer stuff (new to me), and I was wondering what cards went well with the deck, in this game.

I got pretty lucky, and I already have most of the cards I need (including Arcanite Magician), and I was planning on playing an Assault Mode Deck for him, but I don't know about the newest stuff.

I'm exactly 24 hours into the game, and I have a decent amount of resources to blow on packs. I don't quite understand how to get singles though. I guess you sacrifice cards, to get the materials to buy them from the Trader?

3. Anything spell counter related is probably usable with you
4. Don't get Assault Mode those cards brick the deck and lose it's focus, it's gonna be worthless anyways but you don't add in worthless on top of worthless
5. You exchange cards for gold and jewels which only go towards the trader for the Trader cards, they don't give you gems which is what you need
6. Can't get singles of stuff unless you have a Dream Ticket UR if you were aiming for Arcanite anyways

1. The 2DS is just a broad term for DS's that aren't 3DS. If I had just said "DS" there would have been more confusion. Kind of a weird thing to get upset about.
2. Arcanite Magician is male. The artwork for him is just broad chested. A quick google weirdly even revealed forum posts about this topic, so the fanbase agrees that "he" is male. If he were female, it's japan: they clearly would have "magical girl'ed" up the artwork with skirts or jumpsuits, like they did with the other female magician cards. Japanese Yugioh isn't exactly shy about sexuality.
3. Kind of already knew that, but I needed specifics from the newer sets. I assume there has to be at least one card worth mentioning, considering it's over a ten year gap.
4. The Tuner I use to get Arcanite Magician automatically gives me Assault Mode Activate, so it's kind of a waste to switch to another tuner, when I can just use that trap as a last ditch effort for saving Arcanite Magician.
5. Already knew that about the Trader, but was hoping I didn't have to wait months for daily trades to change.
6. I think I have a bunch of those tickets, but I'm assuming their super rare, so I'll just save them for now.

1. The game is a DS game not a 3DS game, the 2 are very distinct in design. DS is a broad term for a series but that's like saying Game Boy is a broad term for Game Boy games so you just call them Game Boy Advance cause they play it
3. The newer sets don't provide anything for spell counter decks, you need to look at old box cards for that
4. You do realize there are other tuners right? Just cause you get Assault Mode doesn't mean it should be used in replacement for better stuff
5. That is DL, you get used to it
6. You don't, like maybe a few but not a lot, they are only given a couple times a year and they are super rare since they give you a UR or SR depending on ticket from any box or structure deck

Arcanite Magician is very much a male.

2. Arcanite is female, Yugioh Wiki Fandom listed Female in Miscellaneous same with Yugipedia. Even doing a close observation of the chest you can see some curves to it, don't recall the average magician being a body builder and building their muscles up from the waist up. Forum discussions on this don't mean anything, and this idea that "it's Japan so they make her magical girly" doesn't work for every card, try explaining Yubel in that scenario. She wasn't meant to be a magical girl she was meant to be a sorceress or some high level mage. Arcanite is a she that's not arguable that's factual even on design basis
