New ARC-V Deck: Zuzu Boyle and the Melodious Monsters!
One of the strongest PvP Decks to emerge out of the release of ARC-V World doesn’t use a Pendulum-based strategy, but instead relies on a strategy that focuses on Fusion Summoning. Zuzu Boyle and her From Songstress to Maestra Skill, along with some new Melodious cards, have made Melodious Decks a top contender that you’re likely to see at this weekend’s Duel Links Remote Duel Invitational and Celebrity Duel Links Remote Duel Invitational. Take a look at some of the cards and combos that make the Deck so powerful!

Ostinato and Soprano the Melodious Songstress Make Fusion Summoning a Breeze!

The Spell Card Ostinato can be used while you control no monsters, and lets you Fusion Summon a Melodious Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck using monsters from your hand and/or Deck as Fusion Materials. You can only get 1 of this powerful card by leveling up Zuzu Boyle to Level 30, but this card makes it a breeze to Fusion Summon any of the incredible Melodious Fusion Monsters! The monster Summoned by the effect of Ostinato is destroyed during the End Phase, but if it is, you get to Special Summon all of the Fusion Materials used to Summon it back from your Graveyard.

Soprano the Melodious Songstress is a Level 4 monster that lets you return a Melodious monster from your Graveyard to your hand, other than Soprano, when it’s Special Summoned. More importantly, once per turn, you can use Soprano’s effect to Fusion Summon a Melodious Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck using monsters you control, including Soprano the Melodious Songstress, as Fusion Materials.

With Ostinato and Soprano the Melodious Songstress in your Deck, you’re able to Fusion Summon your strongest monsters without using Polymerization.

Special Summoning Melodious Monsters to the Field is Easy!

Lots of Melodious cards have effects that let you Special Summon Melodious monsters to the field. The 1st Movement Solo Spell Card, for example, can be activated while you control no monsters, and lets you Special Summon a Level 4 or lower Melodious monster from your hand or Deck. You can’t Special Summon monsters other than Melodious monsters during the turn you activate 1st Movement Solo, but for a Melodious Deck, that isn’t a problem. Some of the Melodious monsters, like Canon the Melodious Diva and Sonata the Melodious Diva have effects that let you Special Summon them from your hand. These effects are key for getting monsters onto your field so that you can use the effect of Soprano the Melodious Songstress to perform a Fusion Summon.

The Melodious Fusion Monsters are Powerful!

There are three different Melodious Fusion Monsters in Duel Links. The first one, Schuberta the Melodious Maestra, can be Summoned by fusing together any 2 Melodious monsters. Its Quick Effect lets you banish up to 3 cards from either Graveyard once while it’s face-up on the field, and increase its ATK by 200 for each card banished. This can be powerful against Decks that rely on keeping cards in the Graveyard.

The other two Melodious Fusion Monsters can only be Fusion Summoned by combining a Melodious Maestra monster with another Melodious monster. There are two Effect Monsters that are Melodious Maestra monsters: The Level 7 Shopina the Melodious Maestra, whose effect lets you add a LIGHT Fairy from your Graveyard to your hand once per turn, and the Level 8 Mozarta the Melodious Maestra, whose effect lets you Special Summon a LIGHT Fairy from your hand once per turn. By fusing either one of them with another Melodious monster, you can Fusion Summon Bloom Diva the Melodious Choir or Bloom Prima the Melodious Choir.

Bloom Diva has 1000 ATK, can’t be destroyed by battle or card effects, and has an effect that makes it so that you don’t take any battle damage from battles it’s involved in. Plus, if it battles a Special Summoned monster, Bloom Diva inflicts damage to your opponent equal to half of the difference between its ATK and the ATK of the monster it’s battling. It also destroys that monster. Bloom Diva is tough for an opponent to get rid, and will slowly chip away at an opponent’s Life Points.

Bloom Prima the Melodious Choir, on the other hand, has 1900 ATK and gains 300 ATK for each monster used to Fusion Summon it. Bloom Prima can attack twice in once Battle Phase, allowing it to take quick wins against opponents. In addition, if Bloom Prima the Melodious Choir is sent to the Graveyard after it’s Fusion Summoned, its effect will let you return a Melodious monster from your Graveyard to your hand.

Zuzu’s Skill Makes Getting Melodious Maestra Monsters Simple!

Shopina and Mozarta would ordinarily be tough to Summon, since they’re high-Level monsters. Fortunately, Zuzu has a Special Skill – From Songstress to Maestra – that you can use to facilitate getting them onto the field. Once per Duel, this Skill lets you send a face-up Melodious monster from your field to your Graveyard and replace it with a Melodious Maestra monster from your Deck or Graveyard. This Skill only works if your Main Deck and Extra Deck contain only Melodious monsters and no other monsters, but for a Melodious Deck, that’s never a problem. Once you use this Skill to get Shopina or Mozarta on the field, you’ll be able to Summon Bloom Diva or Bloom Prima with the effect of Soprano.

Settle the Score with a Level 2 Monster!

In addition to all of these powerful cards and techniques, Melodious Decks can also use the Level 2 Score the Melodious Diva in conjunction with any Melodious monster. During damage calculation, you can send Score from your hand to your Graveyard when one of your Melodious monsters battles an opponent’s monster, and Score will reduce that opponent’s monster’s ATK and DEF to 0 until the end of the turn! This will usually guarantee the destruction of your opponent’s monster and will let you inflict massive amounts of damage to your opponent’s Life Points.

Melodious Decks have a few very powerful cards that they can use in the Main Deck, but it’s the Deck’s Fusion Summoning strategies that allow it to prevail in most PvP Duels. Once you unlock Zuzu Boyle in ARC-V World, be sure to try out the Deck!

On the contrary, due to this post Melodious is safe for at least 2 banlists to promote the sales.
