Deck Update: Dark World!

The Eternal Stream Main BOX introduced two new Dark World cards to Duel Links, including the mighty Grapha, Dragon Lord of Dark World! Dark World Decks are usually filled with monsters whose effects activate when they’re discarded, and include lots of cards with effects that help to discard the Dark World monsters. The two new Dark World cards in the Eternal Stream Main BOX are natural inclusions to Dark World Decks, since they work with the Dark World theme. Check out these two new cards available in the latest BOX!

Grapha, Dragon Lord of Dark World
Grapha, Dragon Lord of Dark World catapulted Dark World Decks to the highest levels of competitive Dueling for a while in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME, and now Grapha is finally in Duel Links! There is nothing subtle about Grapha’s strength. When Grapha is discarded by a card effect, Grapha destroys any card on your opponent’s field. When Grapha is discarded by an opponent’s card effect, its effect is even stronger. Not only does it destroy an opponent’s card, but it also lets you look at a random card in your opponent’s hand, and then Special Summon it to your field if that card is a monster. And that’s just the beginning of Grapha’s power.

You can Special Summon Grapha, Dragon Lord of Dark World from your Graveyard simply by returning a Dark World monster from your field to your hand. Not only does this immediately Summon a massive monster with 2700 ATK and 1800 DEF to your field, but when you return a Dark World monster from your field to your hand, you’ll have one more Dark World monster in your hand to discard with a card effect. This synergizes with lots of other cards used in Dark World Decks, like The Gates of Dark World, which discard Dark World monsters. Not only can you use Grapha’s effect any number of times per Duel, but you can also use it any number of times per turn! Any time it’s destroyed, you can bring it back to your field by returning another Dark World monster from your field to your hand during your Main Phase. Since so many Dark World monsters are Level 4 and lower monsters, doing so is a breeze. Grapha is essentially immortal, and pulls together the Dark World theme in a powerful way.

Charge Into a Dark World
The new Charge Into a Dark World Spell Card lets you Special Summon a Level 4 or lower Fiend-type monster from your Graveyard. Then, you discard a Fiend-type monster. This helps the Dark World Deck in two ways. First, it lets you return a Fiend, including a Dark World monster like Snoww, Unlight of Dark World, to your field. This effect synergizes with Grapha, Dragon Lord of Dark World, since you can return that Special Summoned Dark World monster to your hand to Special Summon Grapha from your Graveyard in its place. Second, it allows you to discard a card as part of its effect, which enables you to activate the effect of one of the Dark World monsters in your hand. This can also help you get Grapha into your Graveyard so that it’s easy to Special Summon for the rest of the Duel.

The Dark World theme already had a lot of awesome support in Duel Links, even before the latest Main BOX was released. Spells like The Gates of Dark World, Dark World Dealings, and Dark World Lightning worked with powerful Dark World monsters like Snoww, Unlight of Dark World; Broww, Huntsman of Dark World; Goldd, Wu-Lord of Dark World; and Ceruli, Guru of Dark World in a formidable Deck. Now, Grapha, Dragon Lord of Dark World and Charge Into a Dark World make the Dark World Deck even stronger.
