Abyss Dweller is really Oppressive going first lol
Abyss Dweller is here and that means Shark gets stronger with his territory of the sharks skill. What does this mean? This means since Abyss Dweller is a quick effect that locks effects from being activated in the graveyard, that can easily be combo'd with the Atlanteans with the easy 1 card combo of Deep Sea Diva. This combo along side backrow can end up not being a fun dueling experience for your opponent and it especially destroys noble knights and dragon decks if you go first most definitely.

Here is an example showcasing what exactly I just said

oh my.. more 6 min 1 game and this is only fast forward.. that's so long.. all my duels are 3-4 min. ending in 2-3 turns. may i ask what is your rank?

Using 2 monsters is too expensive and 1700 is easy to get over, necrovalley is way better.

That's debatable. You have to open with Necrovalley, and using 2 monsters to access Abyss Dweller from the Extra Deck is a lot easier to do. And depending on what Konami releases in the future, Dweller can only get better.

tbh its good considering the advantage some mill decks can take from g.y play in just one turn. but yeah i too prefere necrovally.

This was during the rank reset where everyone was playing vastly blue-eyes, random photon people, and very little I see thunder dragon or noble knights because blue-eyes is the more accessible deck, so it's going to be everywhere. Rank doesn't matter if its on the day of rank reset. You can't blame blue-eyes players let alone noble knights, or thunder dragon players if you're just sacking abyss dweller with a quick effect that shuts down the graveyard that leads into you destroying a face-up card. When you pair xyz veil with abyss dweller its kind of toxic if your opponent has to get rid of that card first and then cant get rid of abyss dweller since they wasted a resource get rid of xyz veil. I wanted more than just blue-eyes opponents but vast majority of the duels during rank reset were blue-eyes players lol. I'm not saying blue-eyes is bad it tops meta weekly often and consistently, I would have been happier to have done this to noble knights or thunder dragons more.

It's really oppressive going first or second. If they start with infantry + lance + diva it's a guaranteed win against most decks. I'm ticked that it completely counters my Triamids, and not because of Dweller specifically, but Infantry. I've tried predicting various outcomes in which for example I have 3 triamid monsters on the field + sphinx in hand and it still loses. The only hope of winning is if they don't start with Lance/CC/Trunade and I start with a trap

IMO it's a good card, but not as broken as most people said it would be. It never poses that much of a threat, especially if I'm playing backrow. Photon Bounzer is a little more tricky, your really need Book of Moon only for that card. It's either that or set a Canadia and play passive.
