Winged Dragon of Ra, too weak to see play?

Easily destroyed, countered and can even be easily outmatched by Six Samurai.
Pretty card but I do not see it being played that much.
Unless your opponent has an empty board and you play Anti Magic Arrow I do not see it even being an OTK.

Yeah, like I said its a pretty card and doing that would feel good but compared to just winning fast against A.I it doesnt really hold up that much.
Even Seto Kaiba has Enemy Controller lol so he can stop a God Card.

Well, to be fair, Ra is the weakest of all the 3 cards. So nerfed, they needed to make Sphere Mode and Pheonix Mode cards to make it useable.

Yeah, I am only gutted I missed the Yugi Moto event so couldn't get Grandpas Cards.
Exodia is probably going to be the only "playable" Divine card, even though he isn't technically classed as one.

If you have a deck built around gaining you life points like with alot of the cards that Tea has in her deck then I can see a deck focused around using Ra as useful against the A.I. but not against players. To many players now have cards and decks to stop attacks or zap attack points down to 0 and other annoying stuff.

Of coarse if you do pull out Ra on another player with like 4000 attack points or whatever they may be a bit stunned by it and surrender or ♥♥♥♥ up cause of them panicing

This. It's a shame really, because it was the strongest of the 3 gods in the manga and anime. The biggest issue I have is that it gets no ATK or DEF from its tributes when Summoned. If that were the case, you wouldn't have to bet all your LP on an all out attack.

Thats why if you wish to try and use Ra against the A.I. or players it's probably best to try and farm cards off Tea first since she can drop cards like Supremacy Berry, Solemn Wishes, Gift of the Mystical Elf, and Dian Keto the Cure Master. Also maybe think about putting in Aegis of Gaia or Enchanted Javelin or maybe stuff like Natrient Z, Gryphon's Feather Duster or Alter for Tribute.

And there is monsters that can boost your lifepoints to if you attempt to win the duel fails with Ra like Cure Mermaid provided you can keep her on the field long enough.

Destiny Hero Plasma has more use than him imo. Ra is just a harder to summon Master of Oz with a lp condition. You're better off running a bewd deck with man eater bugs for monster removal

There have been otk decks made with it on the subredddit. Thought haven't seem them in the meta rn

Ra is insanely weak. There are three things Konami could do to make it good. First they can give it it's original ability where it's ATK is equal to the sum of the monsters tributed (but I think that was anime only, not sure). Second they could release Sphere Mode and Pheonix Mode. I don't think those two cards would be all THAT powerful. Sphere mode destroys three opposing monsters but I never had a problem with that playing the comp. Pheonix mode probably woudn't be worth it in the long run because with the current cards in Duel Links how do you consistently and easily get it in the graveyard to begin with. Third they make Ra a special summon instead of a normal. Losing LP down to 100 just to get on average a 3900 ATK monster is worthless when you for significantly less effort you can get a Cyber Angel or an Ancient Gear Golem. Yeah they're slightly weaker but more consistent.

Honestly Duel Links is kind of everywhere on its balancing.
Yeah they released Ra right now because he is the weakest, so it stops people flooding the meta with him, but on the other hand you have stuff like Hazy Flame and Cyber Angels which are incredibly good anyway.

Hopefully they will release Obelisk the Tormentor in a future event but my guess is by then the game will be allot faster than it is now, again for "balance" purposes.
