Question: Are Twilighsworn monsters considered Lightsworn?
Hi there! So I kinda main a Lightsworn deck (I know, they aren't meta, but they are good enough and I have fun with them, that's what matters), and with the recent Blair event and the Twilightsworn cards, I noticed something odd: Cards that say they only target Lightsworn monster also affect Twilightsworn! So I experimented a little, and indeed, they are seen as Lightsworn in the game: I can give them a Lightsworn Sabre, I can use them to get one in my graveyard with Lightsworn Sanctuary, and even cards that get a boost for Lightsworn cards in my graveyard (like Shire), the Twilightsworn cards count in that boost!

So I was wondering if that's normal or maybe a bug? I mean, I can see why a computer game would but that way: The Lightsworn Saber (to take an exemple) is programmed to check if the word "lightsworn" is in the name of the card before deciding if you're allowed to equip it or not, and "twilightsworn" card TECHNICALLY have "lightsworn" in their names! But from a logical standpoint, even if they are connected to Lightsworn cards, Twilightsworn aren't Lightsworn, they are their own thing, you know?

So I guess I was just wondering if, when it comes to Twilightsworn cards, they are meant to be considered Lightsworn, like they are in this game, or if it's actually a slight bug, maybe due to how the game is programmed to search for card names or something like that? Anyone more familiar with the game in general and this archetype in particular knows?

Long story short, yes, they are considered Lightsworn, they are part of the same Archtype.

EDIT: A small amendment to what I said.

Its normal, as they share a name, all twilightsworn are lightsworn,

Also in the lore, Grapha, Dragonlord of Dark World had brainwashed and corrupted the Lightsworn, and turned them into Twilightsworn.

They are, here's hoping that with the new Chaos support they decide to release the remaining Twilight versions of the remaining Lightsworns, and maybe then aside from Shaman if anything it will be worth to actually use Lightsworn with Twilightsworn, also maybe remove Dragon Eclipse from the ban list to limited to 1? Konami always removes certain cards from the banlist when they want you to buy their new stuff after all like they did with Stratos so I wouldn't be surprised if they do that.
