Am I missing something in the Kiwi Magician Girl text?
My board was Kiwi Magician Girl and Lemon Magician Girl. My opponent had two facedown spell/trap. I attacked with kiwi, Opponent activated widespread ruin and wiped out kiwi, despite the text saying Spellcaster type cannot be destroyed by card effect.

Any clarification is appreciated. I didn't think to save the replay but this probably wouldn't be too hard to reproduce if it isn't user error on my part.

We would need a replay to really see what happened, if you had Kiwi on the field, then the effect should have been online unless there was something else interfering. So without a replay we cant help, sorry =/

Ah it's my fault I didn't even think about it until I was in the deck editor afterwards. Bummer. Thanks though. I'll keep an eye out for it to happen again in the future.

the effect of kiwi that prevents destruction is only possible by discarding it from the hand to the graveyard, kiwi itself being on the field does not have any effects that prevents destruction like you imagine it.

It's not a discard effect, that's why that effect is separate from the discard effect which is the ATK buff

As of right now, that's the only thing I can think of.

But then that would imply it's the opponents turn and they activated widespread ruin.

Well it happened yesterday and I don't remember the leadup or even the turns after but this sounds possible. Maybe he attacked lemon, i switched to kiwi clearing the board and then the following turn I attacked with kiwi into widespread. This would make the most sense to me.

Thanks to everyone this one was bugging me. Considering I have burned myself with lemon magician before + fortune fairy previously, I am fairly confident this is what happened.
