In game chat?
One thing this game seriously needs is an in game chat.
I don't think i really need to say much more than that there is literally no reason for a general chat not to exist, moderators can be volunteers from the community, it can be used to ask questions, discusss deck builds, share decks and generally make the game experience better.

I can not think of a downside but then this is steam forums so i am sure someone will find a reason to tell me why in game chat is a bad idea even though it works in every other game.

We really don't need in game chat, why bother dealing with immature players that curse and insult you while dueling, ESPECIALLY if you run furs and other hated meta? Characters taunts is bad as it is. And besides try using discord with friends if you want to chat.

But hating on furries is like the best thing to do?
jokes aside that is what mods are for?

oh please no, competitve games shouldn't have in game chat. Only if 2v2 duels happen should that ever be a thing. Even then you shouldn't be able to talk to the enemy.

Yeah because it does not work at all in games like World of tanks, World of warships, Warthunder or Crossout right?
there are 4 examples of why it would never work right...??
oh wait.....
Plus then yu gi oh has something that Hearthstone does not.
Amazing.

I am not talking about being able to send messages while dueling btw, i am talking about a general chat for the duel world.

cause it works so well in league of legends, or any other toxic community.
I could see the posts now, nerf this, x card is op. it would just be the forums in real time.

Also a general chat would be pointless, it would just be filled with spammers and flamers.

general chat = global chat

Hey everyone.
I might be 6 months late on the topic, but I just want to add my thoughts as well.

I see that the general concern is about running into toxic players, and I understand that point.
However, I would like in game chats for when I'm playing with some friends of mines instead of moving back and forth between the game and another social base platform such as skype and discord.

Now you may say "If you're dueling with friend and they are on discord or whatever, then why not voice chat with them while dueling?". To that I answer by saying not everyone has a mic or want to voice chat. Some people just prefer to communicate by typing most of the time. However as stated earlier, the back and forth between the game and typing on discord may end up getting annoying or tiring, so maybe an in-game chat would be nice to help with that.

Now if we're all worried about running into toxic players who are immature and too competitive to tolerate, perhaps the option to disable the chat while dueling can suffice. So you don't have to talk with certain types of people if you don't want to while dueling, and can communicate with the types of people you do want to talk with.

So at least having it optional would be good for everyone, right?
