If you know the win condition, then you can start to remove the non-essential cards.
It is often recommended to build a deck of 20 cards.
Due to balance issue i got more than 20 cards.
i use Hallowed life barrier to negate the battle and special summon for be ready to control.
or use senere psychic and gusto thunbolt as bait trap and special summon
Space-time Police or Reese whirldwind of gusto from my deck.
Then you can start to examine each card in your deck.
Which cards contribute to the win condition?
Which cards do not contribute to the win condition?
Remove the non-essential cards.
Reese whirldwind of gusto
gusto thunbolt 1
Gusto griffin 3
Hallowed life barrier 3
Space-time Police
are the win condition
the rest more for disable trap/spell and interrupt
or destroy monsters
A consistent deck usually consists of 20 cards. It has an average of 12 monsters and 8 traps/spells.
Such as board control, how many of these fit that categorey, how many of the cards in your deck actually play with it?
Take for example
Offerings to the Doomed is bad for your deck. Your deck has a lot of cards with discard costs/requirements all the time and midigating any form of drawing will hurt it.
You can use cards like Tribute to the Doom instead, slower, but does the job you want it to and you can gain the benefit from the discard(other cards such as dark world dealing also works).
Snipe Hunter works, but your using your normal summon to get another one out.
Whirldwind 1-2, you'd be sitting there unable to get its effect off because its the only card on the field and/or they set a card with something like Floodgate or Canadia.
Man-eater bug nor Snowman eater(Sazank is a far better flip removal card anyway) are not necessary.
Chain Whirlwind is good(doesn't destroy), but your tacking it on because you have those spot removal cards.
Cards like Divine Wrath will suit you more.
i don't the point have Chain Whirlwind and Ama.
other card i was thinking is divine wraith and force ceasefire.
offering was to interupt during opponent turn but the skip draw hurt.
you had Chain Whirldwind in your original recipie I am going off what you have.
I've also edited the post where I removed AMA.
The only resaon I say Sazank is that it is non-targeting removal, which is very uncommon in this game, but it helps you bypass the Silent retrains(sword and mag's) special summon effect. Same goes for any card with "when destroyed" effect.
Either way you really shouldn't just tack in cards because they have good effects. It's hard, but keep your deck at 20
I try Koa'ki meiru ice to active them but was kinda so-so.
I remember using some of these monsters in my early days on DL. I used The Tricky with Griffen to pull out Windaar or Reeze. I don't think I used Caam much but I remember using Musto. Silent Psychic Wizard was also used. Then I eventually left Psychic for Spellcaster.
But I can't think of any other cards that would act as a stimmulus. I was looking through my cards but I now have too many to take the time to read each one. But I'm seeing some interesting ideas come to mind, like Monster Reborn Reborn for Giant Rex and Photon Lead with Noble Knights. I need to look through my cards one day, I'm overlooking many ideas.
you tribute or synchro for the special summon.
i also got a dino deck with Giant rex
Evilswarm Salamandra
Survival of the Fittest
also try a mill version with
That Grass Looks Greener
and Tyranno Infinity
magical marchand
survival instinct

i think my current gameplay is similar to fabled
wonder if some fabled could fit with my deck.
I'll try that. I was using dinosaurs a few days ago but then started making other decks. My most recent deck is experimenting with Evilswarm with Marik's Right Back at You, but I still have the Giant Rex and Monster Reborn Reborn in it. Filling up the graveyard isn't too hard when some Evilswarm can be tributed to destroy. Then I tried to find other cards to test out, like The Beginning of the End and Puzzle Reborn. I like Chain Destruction and Chain Dispel, although they are not entirely useful in most cases. Some decks would be devestated by these cards though.
The next deck I want to work on is one surrounding Ghost Knight of Jackal, an awful card but I love the artwork and have been wanting to work on an Anubis themed deck. I don't have that card or Curse of Anubis, so I still need some grinding to do. I decided to use Plague Wolf and Pitch-Black Warwolf as part of the deck's theme. Then I have Mad Dog of Darkness and Swamp Mirrorer. I'm not sure where this deck is going but I might have something to make it work.
So I'm looking for cards that support Dark and Beast-Warrior, with other cards to lock down the opponent like Xing Zhen Hu, which matches the theme if you think of coptic jars from mummification. I remember a card once where only low level or low attack monsters can attack, from the beginning of Yu-Gi-Oh. I don't think this card is in Duel Links though because I'm sure I'd see it often.
