Syncro sucks to the sky
First you have to fill up your deck with low level trash to meet the stupid level requirements and then you have to trust on that those two damn yellow dwars get drawn from your deck to finaly put your arms on the table and if they are delayed to much you are welcomed to watch your trash get crushed to pieces if you even have enough to time to summon it before you are doomed.

Who ever had the idea at Konami shall commit harakiri.. now..instantly to prevent another mistake.

Well... to be fair, that's the run and risk of it all. Do you play any Synchro's V.S. have a normal deck and try to outplay your opponent that Does use Synchro's.

It's all a chess match to me. You can run lower level monsters to try to get a Higher level monster on your field V.S. just go all out with 4 Stars and Upper level 7-8 stars. Literally either one is fine. No deck is perfect at all and every one of the decks has a fault in them somewhere. So to me, Synchro's are pretty fun, but I do respect your call on Synchro's. After all, some of them are REALLY Hard to get out.

I dont know, i find elementar hero decks compareable easy, many fusion monsters wich components are by no mean cannonfodder so even if you lack the fusion spell card for while you are able to claim victory unless you are confronted with some "here lock my three blue eyed ultra dragons all at round 1 coz i am so skilled" guy..
People in PvP are getting good at using them and they just came out.

Cyberdragon just came out and despice the fact that we are very limited with the numbers of the dragon uprade cards and the upgrade summon cards it already works far better than syncro imo, still the cyberdragon fusion is even worse than the syncron fusion.. having to pre summon every cyberdragon fusion material.. or the need to have five cards in the hand for it.. *shrugs*

Perhaps after they released a box for each in the shop or something it gets better.

So far neither of the latest released duelst is causing much movement in my pants..

I do see your point.

In terms of DL, BEWD is the only good deck with good tuners. More specifically protector since it special summons not only a level 1 tuner, but BEWD as well.

The Junk archetype was good to introduce syncros...too bad it was only in a structure deck that is garbage.

With enough time and efford and much more gems you might be able to chisel out a working deck from that mess but i think its far easier with other kind of decks so the efford is kind of wasted. In the end every deck can be defeated if you only encounter the wrong opponent so i think one should stick the deck that offers the most fun, no? No point in blood grinding and forcing yourself to workd out some deck only because its said its strong or because its the latest if even that deck is countered by a better one sooner or later.

Probaby the thing that makes them much less useful right now is that there are very few low level monsters around yet that are designed specifically to support Syncro monsters. Often with abilities that make it easier to bring more low level mosters to the field in a single turn and uses them to Syncro summon before the other player can respon or interupt.

The probelm is that there arn't really of these support monsters availible right now and there are very few Syncro mosters around that are worth building a deck around. The only ones I can think of are Azure Eyes Sliver Dragon which first well in to a Blue Eyes deck and even then you need to make a choice between bringing out a slightly weaker monster in exchange for having two strong monsters the next turn.

The Black Rose Dragon and also work reletively well in an Aromage deck but obviously right now that can only be done with a Akiza. While the Stardust Dragon really doen't seem to have any effective deck in can work with that isn't an awkard mash up.

Konami's mistakes regarding Synchros were as follows:

- Limiting Ace cards to boxes/skills
- Only a handful of generic Synchros available with decent effects/stats (Gravity Warrior, Naturia Leodrake, Flamvell Uruquizas, Giganticastle, X-Saber Wayne, Stardust Dragon)
- Several "generic" Synchros with bad effects/stats (Vylon Sigma, Vylon Epsilon, Power Tool Dragon, Goyo Chaser)

Out of the 21 Synchro monsters we have available outside of skills, 6 are reasonably usable through stats and/or effects and the rest are either restricted to their archetype or have bad effects that make them not worth using in Duel Links.

And that's not even taking into account that Synchros are terrible in this format due to the field restrictions. XYZ monsters will be more flexible, at least. But they will also probably be heavily restricted in variety.

Yep! Mask Change Anki doesn't have room for synchros and the deck is Tier 1.

Sooo True!!
Well you can always play dark ruler no more and most of these can go f themselves, but yeah, they suck.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
