Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links

Konami should have not warned the cheaters
https://www.reddit.com/r/DuelLinks/comments/7scujq/ban_wave_in_coming/

For those unaware, Konami has sent a message to the cheaters who are tampering with the game telling them to stop or else they'll lose their accounts.

Konami should have just banned them with no warning, after all they aren't a bunch of 5 year olds who can't tell left from right. Cheaters know they are cheating.

But I guess the reason behind it was to prevent losing potential pack buyers...

I just find it funny that some people are actually defending the use of cheats in pve as if geting easy 8k points against LD an getting easy cards, skills and gems doesn't reflect in the pvp.

So your answer to justify cheating is "it's boring". wow.

When I play pve I just click on auto duel, then I alt+tab and do other stuff and go back later to click on the next guy. I don't need to look at the screen while the Ai does its job. If you want to play yugioh without any form of grinding, then play the physical game or that other yugioh game, which is also on steam.

Farming is necessary on duel links because of the model of the game and cheating should never be accepted when it reflects on pvp directly or indirectly.

Or is the word "ethic" is lost on you?
Maybe if Konami cared about making their droprates for events not absolute sh.it maybe half of the player base wouldn't have had to resort to using them. Or any of the other shady stuff they pull with drop rates and etc. They made this as tedious as possible without (the auto duel function was just so people wouldn't as quickly) causing the player base to leave so they would be more convinced to spend money (AKA "legitimized cheating"). Ask konomi about ethics first before commenting about the rest of the player base.

Also why haven't you realized yet why the haven't just out right banned people? Becasue the hacks (apparenly there were a lot of variety to them) were so widely used they'd lose a HUGE chunk of the player base and with that a lot of money. It's a money game man konami doesn't give a ♥♥♥♥ about fairness as long as they get paid. Would you volunteerly cut off your arm if you broke a finger?
I've mentioned the money reason right on my first post...some people don't care about reading what others post before writting their response, it seems.

I do agree Konami does many bad things. Drop rates for SR cards are low, they screwed with gem drop rates as well (before, every duplicated skill would always give 15 gems. Now, it can drop between 5, 10 or 15). Not to mention that ridiculous wall to not allow f2p players to buy all the cards from the selection box.

However, and this is the key part, two wrongs don't make a right.
Konami sucks? yes
Duel link is not perfect? of course
because this game does not live to your expectation so have the right to mod it? nope

No matter how you look, this game still belongs to konami and they have all the rights to say "no to mod" in their game

I really hope there are people who actually got banned just because the use of pve mod. When they defend their cause with a huge wall of text. I'll be reading it with my popcorn and laughing that crap out loud

Konami cheated me out of Metal Gear Solid 6. I don't really care about this.
I'm okay with them issuing warnings as long as they follow through on punishing those that ignore them. It's not like they're being tried for murder, they cheated in a game, and if the game designers see fit to be merciful, that's their choice.
While they're at it, maybe they should go after those who avoids the chat filter too. Ad-Spam is always been an constant problem on players minds and have seen lots of players having to block these people for a good reason. PVP cheaters always had their way for far too long and it's should be time to ban those players along with the Ad-Spammers. Konami is meant to be enforcing the ToS not let people break them for far too long then just warn them.

Personally, I think it's nice that they at least give you a warning. This way you don't have any excuses to complain about getting banned. I'm not a pro YGO player, but I am a casual who looks at this from the point of view as a gamer and a YGO casual.

Gamer PoV: It's a F2P game, so of course there's gonna be a hell of a grind if you're not P2W. Micro Transactions exist to keep the F2P games afloat. Look at TF2 for example, more people have the Mann Co. hat (proof you actually bought something from the store) than you think. My Steam username reflects the fact that I wear the Gibus. You would think I was an F2P player, but I painted mine. Paints cost money.

YGO player POV: Good decks cost money for the actual TCG. People buy packs of cards and starter decks to get cards they want. Now there's sites that are dedicated to selling specific cards, but the old methods will never go away. Hell, I bought the Link Strike starter deck to get Decode Talker for my Blackwings deck. And I used to buy packs on occassion when I had the extra money. I love YGO, both the anime and the TCG. I even have Legacy of the Duelist on my PS4. I have a few of the older games too (and I think Konami needs to make a new one for the current format). And yes, I bought DLC in the console games to get certain cards. It's how I ran a somewhat decent Elemental Hero deck in Decade Duels Plus (I was against Syncro Summoning back in the day).

My point, Yu-Gi-Oh was never a free game to play, even if it's digital (unless it's YGO Pro) or analog. Yeah, Konami wants us to buy things with actual money. They make it more difficult for us in Duel Links to get ahead if we don't use Micro Transactions. Personally, I think it's fair. We should be thankful that the game is even F2P in the first place. Yeah, it's a grind. But it's what we get for not paying. Besides, it feels nice to win duels in PVP with cards you earned.
so they will get banned and they play other game, big deal, this is main reason why blizzard never really banned bot farmers in WoW because they still are customers and pay money, wonder if any money spenders got the message as well.

In previous Yugioh Online games (the very first Yugioh Online game for PC), Konami did ban (temporarliy for a month) without a warning... you just got a notice that illegal activity was detected, and got no chance to appeal. At that time is was rather forfeiting on purpose and getting cards from the opponent as "Payment" what was the reason for the bans...
can you give youtube link to said game? never heard of it and im curious what was previous yugioh game on pc

You cannot play it anymore... that was 10-15 years ago... and it was shut down after several years...
I found this link where the game was described...

At that time you had to buy Duel passes to play duels... and they had cool weekly tournaments... Gunslinger (for each consecutive win (each loss resets you to 1) you got better cards) and championship, where it was a K.o. system over 8 brackets, and you got exclusive cards if you win... and everyone couuld watch it...

My opinion: If your cheating doesn't bother anyone, like single-player game modes, I'm fine with it. But PvP cheating should be instant ban and anything which involves indirectly to help cheating in pvp aswell.
>Using mod to get 8k point instantly
>higher chance of card/skill drops without putting any effort
>Using the card/skill for PVP
>Somehow people says it doesn't affect PVP

No one is claiming it doesn't affect PvP. Like I said in my previous post, I don't condone the use of cheats/hacks in PvE but the real issue here is the cheating that is going on during PvP.

I understand your frustration but I truly believe you guys are arguing over nonsense. You have no way of knowing whether or not your opponent acquired his cards and skills in a legitimate way and even if he didn't it doesn't prevent you from winning the duel in spite that.

its all limited stuff after all, since until you spend real money for the orbs or smth you cant speed up duelists to pop up in your game, at the end everyone gets the same results, box cards are still the best and gems from leveling characters are limited.
normal player vs cheater vs p2w and always RNG win, since you can open 1 pack and get card you wanted or open 100 packs and still get nothing.
i also noticed when im trying hard to get highscore with odion scorpion farming deck i get crap drops, and when i'm not even trying i get ur from duelists... in 3-4 rewards

Same thing yet people are somehow ok with this get real. And like the other guy said that doesn't stop you from winning the duel.
