There really needs to be more focus on when these type of events go live that some sort of mini box goes live with it to help complete the deck so that its not worthless without bunch of other cards.
Uh, Earthbounds dont require no cards in your hand. Earthbound Immortals require a field spell and two tributes, but thats it. That said, this looks like you mean the Infernity archestype, not the Earthbounds. As for the infernities, their effects are typically stronger than most monsters for their level, and handless isnt too hard to pull off with cards like launcher
Now onto your post:
Immortals have no requirement that you can't have cards in your hand their only requirement is that you have a field spell and no, Immortals can and will exist on their own, they are indeed a archetype with their own support cards but more often than not they're just used as filler cards in decks that make use of field spells, also weak? a 3k ATK monster that can direct attack is weak?
It can also fit well with the Archfiend archetype, since you can use 'Call of the Archfiend' to special summon it, and you can have the field spell 'Archfiend Palabrynth' in play for the atk boost.
As for the handless Infernity cards, I'm still working on a deck for that, I'll wait until I level up Kessler and unlock more of his cards before I seriously try it out though.

Infernity, assuming that's what you're referring to and NOT earthbound immortal, are a strong archetype. We don't have the support for it right now and when we do it'll be just as broken as today's meta... but "when" we get it is the question. Although there shouldn't be a correlation between duel links and actual TCG/OCG, there's a reason why a few cards of Infernities are on the forbidden/limited list.
