no, there are non-meta decks that can get to kog but are pretty much one trick pony and meta decks are characterized by well rounded flexibility.
also if people use some trick to get kog they dont share it since they dont want other to abuse it so konami will nerf it, people are much more cautious now.

Using a meta deck isnt necessary but youre going to go up against meta decks (and the occasional troll deck) so it will be quite hard to rank up. Still there are alot of other archtypes that stand a chance and if normal decks dont work out you can still go for a different approach with burn and mill decks as they tend to work quite well even against most meta decks

You don't need one, but it will be much tougher.

If you're wondering why tiered and rogue decks are more common in those ranks, picture it like this:
When you already have the base of a strategy that is mainly what you need for your combo, it's a lot easier to adapt to a meta shift than when you're constantly adjusting a mixed bag of a deck that can potentially break apart if one component fails to go off

Super Poly is far superior skill for heroes than Hero flash. And hero flash takes like 10 turns to kick in or something, NOT OTK

Dude I have used HERO Flash long enough to know it is a huge OTK potentianl since it gives you H at the very start, also you don't need HERO Flash the card to win in fact you shouldn't need it at all.

Super Poly is useful for the Omni Heroes not Shining Flare or Electrum or Grandmaster. HERO Flash is the skill for those. HERO Flash doesn't suck you just don't know how to build a proper OTK deck that utilizes the Heroes properly

Meta decks are decks that do well in unofficial tournaments. Decks that do well in tournaments don;t always do well on the ladder (lack of a side deck) - conversely, decks that do well on the ladder don;t always do well in tournaments (I climb easily with Dark Magician decks for example) .
