Then why do we still have censored dubs and cards?
Both...
FINAL instead of DEATH....
Dark Magician instead of Black Magician?
your logic is backwards. you think thay have to go back to every card and redraw them? while in reality it takes time and money to censor the cards. the artwork for the cards already exist on the japanes version of the game.
As things stand the censored versions exist and on the off chance they want to reuse them all they have to do is open up the file and press print or copy/paste. To do what you want even if the artwork exists requires editing to combine that artwork with english text.
Tell me, seeing that you are a game developer and all how can they"copy/past" as you put it, the censored art but not do the same with the unaltered art?
Do you have a source for that accusation? or do you just "know"?
4kids have definitely made some very questionable decisions when it comes to anime localization (the really bad One Piece dub comes to mind), but the Yu-Gi-Oh dub is arguably probably their best work in the field to date.
A majority of the voice acting choices they made for YGO were pretty solid, and I definitely prefer the dub over the sub because of how much more enjoyable it becomes when the show is less focused on being dramatic and fully acknowledges its campiness.
