whats a link summon?

i was watching some yu gi oh cartoons. but i got no idea what it is. can anyone explain. also, do you think it should be added into yu gi oh duel links?

i think its basically a summon from your extra deck without the polymerization card

OH! that sounds awesome! but it would be a little fiddly if it was like that, then you otta get the materials ( and by asumtpion ) they gotta be on the field as well since its a fusion without polymerization... if its like that...

It is way more than just that. The field was changed when link monsters were released in the TCG. There is now a sixth monster zone reserved for extra deck monsters only. You can summon extra deck monsters ONLY to that field without using link monsters.

Link monsters summoned there give benefits to monsters that the arrows on their card point to, while at the same time, allowing you summon other extra deck monsters (fusion, xyz, synchros and other links) there. For instance, if a link monster has a downward arrow, that means the zone under it can be used to summon a second extra deck monster there.

I do not think they should be added to Duel Links. We would be 100% dependent on them and the field isn't big enough to truly take advantage of the link mechanic.

It's safe to assume that Synchros are next and maybe (BIG maybe) Xyz next.

The reason I say that is that Xyz were the reason we got reduced to 1 zone for extra deck monsters, because they are way to splashable/spammable.

No deck hoping to get anywhere wouldn't run them except Monarchs.

It's interesting since links are basically much easier XYZ summons - the meta has just changed to swarming with links instead. Oh well.

What is Link Summoning? Something we came to Duel Links to get as far away from as possable! Sadly Konami will add them eventually, and even this games more-classic pace will be destroyed by them. (heck, Cyber Angels already do so)

Ah well, at least when 5D's enters Duel Links, I'll get to re-live my dueling Golden Age.

links summons were added to nerf a broken YU-GI-OH meta. lets hope nither links nor pendulums come to duel liks.

who the ♥♥♥♥ even uses meklords?

I'm one of the few people who kind of likes Link Summoning.
Two of my current decks are Cyberse and Weather Draco.

It does change the pace of the game and hurts a lot of players though because they have to find work arounds to either continue using their decks or ditch it entirely(though that's a small percentage).

eveyrone could get adequete training before VS'in a link summon a.i duelist to show you how its done and how to fight it. to the basics of course. if enough training was done for any new player, like 1 to 3 tutorials after stage 4 to teach you all about link summoning. that will work out well.
