Go with nightmare its the perfect balance for this game which feels just as tough as the first game and yes you die in 1-2 hits and only 1 hit if you slow on the quick time events mashing when grabbed,
Ammo is scarce and having to shoot things using a few bullets if stealth fails sometimes it really get difficult getting that ammo count back up but then again im still early in the game only 6hrs and still doing side quests not mainquest yet which is my experience I'm dealing with now.
So far I'm hoarding a lot of gunpowder cause idk if I'm gonna need it for something important soon cause you can use it to craft ammo but you only get 1 bullet each for 2 gunpowder for handgun ammo which dont seem all that worth to me.
If you played the first evil within nightmare feels just like that on this game.
Forgot to mention I experience far in between autosaves so you can end up losing quite a bit of progress if you die just play safe. lol
