Evil Within 2: First Blind Playthrough: Nightmare or Akumu?
The time has come to play Evil Within 2.

First I tried playing on nightmare mode and was having such a blast, I thought maybe I should reroll on Akumu mode to really immerse myself in the tension of the game.

However, I find myself unable to decide whether or not Akumu mode will simply end up frustrating the life out of me with cheap one hit kills all the time. Or will the game on Akumu mode prove to be a fun but fair challenge?

I don't really want to play through half the game only to decide I am not having fun anymore.

So my question is whether or not Akumu is fun for a first playthrough or should I just carry on with nightmare?

I can't seem to find any answers online, I think because Akumu is a relatively recent difficulty mode that was added after the game's release.

Please help me decide!

Thanks

I just started this game blind yesterday on nightmare and i can tell you on Akumu i wouldn't enjoy the game dying in 1 hit every time cause they very aggressive in this game.

Go with nightmare its the perfect balance for this game which feels just as tough as the first game and yes you die in 1-2 hits and only 1 hit if you slow on the quick time events mashing when grabbed,

Ammo is scarce and having to shoot things using a few bullets if stealth fails sometimes it really get difficult getting that ammo count back up but then again im still early in the game only 6hrs and still doing side quests not mainquest yet which is my experience I'm dealing with now.

So far I'm hoarding a lot of gunpowder cause idk if I'm gonna need it for something important soon cause you can use it to craft ammo but you only get 1 bullet each for 2 gunpowder for handgun ammo which dont seem all that worth to me.

If you played the first evil within nightmare feels just like that on this game.

Forgot to mention I experience far in between autosaves so you can end up losing quite a bit of progress if you die just play safe. lol
