The Evil Within 2
Can't get Fullscreen option to stay on - any fix?
I can't get the in-game Fullscreen option to stay on for any screen size, it goes back to Borderless on this game. It's the only game that has this problem.

This is preventing me from selecting 1440p Fullscreen on my 4k monitor (I want 1440p, not 4K res, so I can get a consistent 60fps). When I select 1440p Fullscreen, it results in 1440p Borderless which is a smaller screen than my monitor. If I select 1080p I get an even smaller screen for the game. What the hell.

Alt-Enter doesn't convert it to fullscreen (presumably because the in-game option can only be on Borderless or Windowed, not Fullscreen).

Anyone know a fix for this?

The first Evil Within game lets you select Fullscreen and it works as it should.

With Evil Within 2, the fact that you can select Fullscreen in the menu options, but there's no way to confirm keeping the setting at Fullscreen (you have to just Back out of the menu to supposedly keep changes but that just results in Fullscreen changing to Borderless) seems like a really bad setting implementation.

Really hope there's a fix for this as the game came out years ago. I googled, saw some others with the issue, but didn't find any fixes.

This might be a fix, but it's absurdly finicky and requires doing BOTH steps 1 and 2 below:

Step 1
Since the game won't accept Fullscreen, set it to Borderless (not Window mode) and 1440 resolution, that'll result in a window that's too small (and no matter how many times you try Alt-Enter does not switch it to fullscreen), so then completely exit the game to desktop (note, it's important that it's not Window mode, must be Borderless, when you exit the game).

Step 2
After you exit the game, restart the game, it'll boot up under Borderless 1440 but the screen will be too small as before, at that point try Alt-Enter, that might push it to fullscreen (in-game options will still say Borderless) and you may need to execute Alt-Enter up to 2 times for it to make the switch to fullscreen (I encountered that situation a couple times).

Crazy that we have to go through this sh#t with these half-@ssed Japanese ports to PC.

For me, locking and unlocking the taskbar seemed to have worked. Not sure if it's a permanent fix though.
