That never happened for me. The cat only first showed up for Kidman in TEW1 dlc. If it was related to the nurse I would think it would have had been present in the first game. The cat also gives you green gel for communicating with kidman about the slides.
btw the cat leads you to the chair once you collected all the other slides except for the last, then the nurse lady tells you all this stuff about spoiler
