fps and stuttering on high end pc?
for starters: i play on 2560x1080 (21:9) ultrawide

anyway, i set the game to ultra and get around 70fps and the textures look like crap and i get horrible stutter issues. i lower my settings (stops most stuttering) and only get about a 6-8 fps increase and the games' textures look beyond ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. is there something wrong with my specs or is it the game?

i get really good FPS on Witcher 3 with about 110+ FPS set to ultra, plus and the game looks amazing. no stuttering or crazy FPS drop.

is there something I can do to make the game run smoother and make textures looks better? if i recall, the evil within 1 actually had better looking textures and i ran that game around 100 fps

I've literally spent hours and hours and hours testing different combinations of resolutions, refresh rates, fps capping via NCP and third party software, vsync via game and NCP and everything else you could think of to no avail.

The best and most stable way I've personally found to play this game is to do the following:

Monitor - 60 / 120 Hz
Gsync off if you have a gsync monitor (nVidia users)
Set vsync type to "fast" via NCP (nVidia users)
Cap fps to 60 via MSI Afterburner if you use it
Set in-game fps to 60 via graphic settings

this give me the best performance personally and a steady 60fps. As a PC user this is a very sub par way of playing the game I know, however I'd prefer a steady 60fps then a unstable game with stutter and sub par performance.

Persoanlly for myself gsync does not work correctly and all other resolutions besides what I stated above with those specific settings causes irregular fps fluctuations and stutter.

I have an rtx 2080 and 8600k and I get up to 100 fps or more but the game isn't very optimized and I get frame drops every now and then so I just locked the frame rate at 75 fps to reduce stuttering. I recommend Reshade if you wanna improve the textures. You may be able to find some reshade presets online but I personally like to mess with it by myself. Enabling adaptive sharpness should improve the textures and make everything clearer and sharper. Colorfulness, DPX, and clarity are some of the effects that I like to play with....try it and see what works best for you.
