i imagine it would be. i mean the game was designed around 3rd person, just sticking a different viewpoint in doesnt really work they way you expect it should. other games are good examples, PUBG, Conan Exiles, etc.
Because I wanted to know as a new player if I should play the game in first person.
Edit: Now that I've tried the first person mode, I have to say that I like it a lot. But it was helpful, and more enjoyable when I sped up the mouse.
PUBG is great and the best way to play in first person idiot.
1st person is cool and all, thoroughly enjoying it so far, but it has some major drawbacks. Walking seems significantly slower, some interactions are buggy (Sebastian climbs anything with a grabbable item on it and takes his time actually climbing things you want), bushes seem to operate weirdly (sometimes enemies can see you even if completely hidden, sometimes you're in plain sight and they can't see you; it's almost impossible to see through the bush and while accurate makes sneak attacks incredibly hard except for just mashing it and praying), the sudden jumps to 3rd person in some areas are really awkward (crawling through tunnels and such), some of the reload animations are wonky, and the melee is...I'm not sure what it is. I've had enemies almost inside me and I can't hit them with the ax, same with boxes. I know the range is short but this basically makes it to where you have to be pressed against them. That's the bad stuffs.
Good stuffs include actually being able to read most of the stuff like the Missing Posters straight up which is nice, it's pretty immersive when things aren't going awry, its a nice change from 3rd person as there is a natural 1st person part in the game and it was one of my favorite parts.
I would give it a 7/10, 8.5/10 once they get the bugs and weirdness ironed out probably. Wouldn't recommend it for first playthrough as the severe lack of vision will probably ♥♥♥♥ you over.
