I see this game received an update today but I cannot find any patch notes detail what the 2.0 GB update is. Does anyone know?

They just posted it for those who missed it.

The Evil Within 2 Update 1.04 Patch Notes

Added option to play in First Person Mode
Various minor issues fixed
[PS4 Pro ONLY] Fixes an issue where the native resolution upgrade included in the v1.03 update may not be properly enabled on 4K displays.
Now correctly displays native resolution of 2240 x 1260, output at 3840 x 2160 on 4K monitors.

So nothing new really unless you want to play first person.

It's a damn shame. The least I would have expected would have been they fixed the issues where the game is liable to crash on classic mode around the theater area and in the shooting gallery. First person mode was already there before, just triggered by a console command. For me, the game would gain replayability if they had added another difficulty instead.
I really do wished they added an Akumu mode like the first game where you die in one hit. Not really a fan of this classic mode as you can only save 7 times. I find that more frustrating then engaging and challenging.

I was hoping for akumu too, that would have been so easy to add. There are lots of people who like to do no damage runs. For classic mode, I would have wished that (in addition to crash fixes) they patched out the stuff that negated the no upgrade restriction, like Harbingers needing less stealth kills, Effigy having much less hitpoints and firewalk having like at least 5 less enemies. As it is, classic mode is actually easier than if you do nightmare without upgrades.
Classic has that whole nervewracking factor (at least with a gamepad). Nothing like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up an attack and getting curbstomped by fire guys losing a few chapters progress.

I had a thread somewhere where I reported on a run of mine playing TEW2 on nightmare, no upgrades, no keys, no pouches, no coffee, no stealth kills, no crafting. Now that would have been a nice new difficulty too. :)
As bullet spongey as that one powerline boss was is that even doable?

It is doable because the game drops handgun ammo if you run out of ammo.
TIL

That said kiting for 20 minutes doesn't sound all that fun.

Looks like there's still no walk button.

To each their own. I would think the concept of one hit deaths to be frustrating.

On the flip side, having limited saves means you can just freely save scum around every encounter. Just like an old survival horror game.

thing is, these new kids on the block dont want hard games. they want the same COD casual feel in every single thing they do. challenge? no way, too hard. everything fps with one trigger button plz. thats the way games should be done.
