Communicator glitch?
Okay, so I'm playing the game through for the second time, and have a small problem. And it seems I'm not the only one:

Basically, my "G" button is extremely temperamental for bringing up the communicator, even when I'm standing right next to a trigger point. Like the people in this link, I also don't remember have this problem the first time I played the game, and yes, it looks like it may have only happened since first person mode became a thing.

Anyone else having this problem?

The controls are remappable? I didn't get that impression...

Have the same issue, playing with an Xbox One controller. Communicator sometimes would just not pop out. I've read it's the issue since the first person view patch.

Second playthrough for me now as well, having the same issue. I wont be able to pull it out even after remapping. I counter this issue by pulling up my map. After quickly opening/closing the map i can hit g and bring out the communicator. You can do that or restart the game lol

Cheers. I'm not playing it atm...got past the problem somehow when I first posted this, can't remember how, lol...but at least I'll have this post to come back to in future when I play yet again ('cause I do love the game, just wish it didn't have these issues)! Cheers for response, in any case ;)

I go to the weapon wheel and "select" my pistol again (while standing) and I can get the communicator to be used again. Strange bug

Thanks for the hint, that worked for me. Previously, I was unable to use it.
