This game is running ID Tech 5 apparently?

If you Google The Evil Within 2 it states the engine is ID Tech 5...

Ugh. As long as the game doesn't have any issues at launch I'm fine I guess.

Well if there aren't requirements on steam, you won't see them there. Fact is its pc footage.

The game coming 3 weeks and no say requirements? :/

It's a gameplay preview it won't have any of that. Like I said steam would have the requirments already. Blame tango game works for not providing specs.

It is but it's now called the Stem engine. It's like what Arkane did with thier Void engine. Heavily customized engine.

Void Engine = Bad engine ever
Dishonored 2 = rushed to market and runs like a dog's breakfast

Dishonored death to the outsider = not rushed and runs like butter

I hope The Evil Within 2 work very good and no problems.

Want to preorder, but going to wait for the recommended/min specs before I do. My setup is starting to show it's age with a lot of the modern variations of id Tech. Doom on id Tech 6 runs good overall but I have to play with a lot of settings on medium. Dishonored on highly modified id Tech 5 runs poorly no matter what in certain areas but ok in others.

EDIT: Also, people keep saying this is based on 5 but I have yet to see confirmation and even the articles people are linking to don't specifiy which version of idTech the Stem engine is based on.

I DO agree that 5 is the most likely candidate, but some other variant is possible.

Void Engine (Dishonored 2) is very bad the worst engine.

You mean unoptimized at launch, since death of the outsider uses the same engine yet runes fine.

I don't know if i'm gonna pre-order or not then. Wolfenstein on Idtech 5 was kinda fine, but The Evil Within 1 still feels really choppy with this engine. It's not as bad as when the game got launched, since it got updates, but it stills feels choppy. Some animations feel like they're locked to 30fps even if you're playing at 60.
Some framedrops out of nowhere and the texture popping is bad. Of course you can tweak the game, but we shouldn't need to tweak it if the game was optimized.

I think the game go in 60 fps is impossible Tango block the fps at 30.

TEW isn't locked at 30fps since you can unlock the fps in the settings. But sometimes, Sebastian's animations kinda look like they're locked to 30, on a 60fps setting.

It was locked at 30fps on launch, but they made it run at 60fps after a huge ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ from PC community.

Yup, I hope too, since i'm replaying TEW 1 just to get my hands on the second one, but I'm still unsure about pre-ordering if this is based on idTech 5. I won't buy a game with this old and broken engine. STEM engine could be optimized, but since it's a tweaked version of id 5, I'm kinda... worried.

Yes, I played with 30fps at launch and the black bars. But 60fps is really choppy and you still get framedrops out of nowhere :\
I just hope this one won't be as desastrous as the first one, 60 bucks is a huge price for a game with no requirement yet.
