How to stealth kill harbinger?
A harbinger is those enemy who use flamethrower I believe.

It seems you can only use stealth kill once, then he will get really sensitive and find you before stealth kill hint is popped out.

I tried to stealth kill several harbingers in chapter 13 by using bushes, you need to stealth kill three or four times to finish him, but I think those stealth kills other than 1st time only works because of the turning animation don't have enough time to finish before stealth kill hint pops.

So when I encountered harbinger in chapter 14, it is really impossible to stealth kill him, especially in that tiny space which you need to shoot off the switch to turn off the blocking fire before entering.

Is it normal that you can not assassinate harbinger as usual after the first time?
And how can I assassinate that harbinger in chapter 14 if I don't want to spam my bullets?

smoke bolts seems to be the only way to keep sneak attacking them after the first hit

freezing probably works too

You can also destroy the tanks on their back and then they go into full melee mode.

Well, i always choose to fight them around the bushes, dont get too close (since they can one hit kill you), then when they turn their back you can back stab them. (Keep pressing A)
Their most valunrable is the time they spreading fire, , you can even direct run to them and back stab them.
It’s not easy, you need to back stab them 4 times (nightmare) then only able to kill them.

literally sprint at them from behind while they're spewing flames and spam F to do the stealth attack, he won't turn around fast enough

Doesn't seem to work consisrtently. I've been fighting one for about 20 minutes now that always turns and faces me right after he starts doing this. Literally starts doing his little fire fan attack and then stops as soon as I start sprinting. This section is starting to ruin an otherwise exceptional game.

It's possible there is some differences between the difficulties. I know in the first game the higher difficulties sped up enemy animations and recovery times.

Well Idk, I did it like that in Nightmare mode, you just have to start sprinting before you're right on his a$$

First, you must behind him Directly, Second, only he start spred fire left right then you only sprint to him, and keep pressing A, you only have 1 sec before he turn his back.
You almost cant Backstab him while he chasing you, because his eye sight too wide. you have to wait he totally ignore you then only can backstab him.
Fight him in bushes is more easier, but dont get too close or he can one shot kill you.

The user who stated to run at them head on while they are flame throwing, is the best way. Sneaking up on them is a lost cause and a huge waste of time. I have both melee skills activated, and it takes me about 2 minutes and three melees to take one down. At first I wasted hours trying to kill one of them, but then I found running straight at them and hitting stealth kill is the ticket.

This. Basically sprint at them from behind, when they stop walking to turn, mash stealth kill to initiate a stab. Go hide, and when they turn to walk away, repeat this. Takes 5 stealth kill stabs to kill them.

Yeah no...these guys just ruin this part of the game. Run in and mash A...nope, stops his spraying animation instantly and turns despite the fact his back was to me completely. Prompt is there for a split second, but no, even furiously hitting button isn't recognized. Can't sneak either because these psychic ♥♥♥♥♥ know I'm coming somehow EVEN IF I CROUCH AND SNEAK with max stealth.

Sorry, I've been loving the game up until this point...but this ♥♥♥♥ is just downright tedious now. Skipping this ♥♥♥♥ and just going straight for the ending now.

Haha! Just finished, what a great game this was.
If you spend 75000 greel gel on the aiming slow-mo, they are easy. I cleared out all 4 of them in the city hall area for more gel and you need to take down at least one to finish the flamethrower.
Banana Oct 19, 2017 @ 9:19am
Its totally worth it, flamethrower really powerful ...... just too bad when you playing nightmare, during end game pretty much half of the enemies immune to fire...
