Does the flamethrower not do enough damage to kill Laura for anyone else? I keep restarting the fight over and over and I still can't kill her with just the flamethrower.

I think it needs 80 charges to kill her.

I burn all of my ammo and she still won't die.

Maybe try to use the flame from the ceiling once, then use the flamethrower. I didn't try for the achieve, but it took me two bursts from the ceiling flames to kill her off on Nightmare.

You can only use the flamethrower for the achieve. On Survival, it appears to take more than 99 fuel to kill her, so save some gunpowder.

I did it on nightmare just a minute ago by using 3 shock arrows/darts and the ceiling flamethrower once. (Achievement is unlocked)
I think you need only to deal final demage with the flamethrower.

I got the achievement by using all flamethrower ammo, then crafting about 20-30 more ammo just in case and that did it. If you have enough gunpowder than if need be, just craft more flamethrower ammo during the fight.

That's incorrect. You only need to kill her (last hit) with the Flamethrower, but you can use other means of damage while she's stunned to lower her health much faster.

Just use other weapons until you think she'll die after a couple of flamethrower hits. I got the achievement like that, too.

bit of a necro i know but for anyone in the future doing this one, putting a full magazine from the fully upgraded AR with bullet cascade (and more than a few misses resetting the chain) does enough damage to kill her with less than 20 flamethrower ammo. bit of an NG+ strategy but honestly i wouldn't try killing her with weapons fire in NG in either game, really.

if you mess up, the game does an autosave on each phase transition anyways, so you can always reload your latest autosave if you kill her early.

You can burn her with the flames in the area once and use about 40 flamethrower ammo to finish her. It still counts for achievement - I did it this way when I got it.

stupid me didn't collect the flamethrower after killing o'neal. so i guess this Achievement will have to wait to NG+

In case anyone else was late to play this game, just want to say this comment is incorrect. I just got the achievement on Nightmare. I used the trap in the middle once, and used a bunch of bullets (pistol, 2 types of shotgun, harpoon, sniper) and got the achievement because the flamethrower was what finished her off.
