100% true, thank you... Someone who knows what they are talking about.
Jush skip to 19 mim mark this on GTX1050
lol on a GTX1050 for a split second of a 20 minute video he gets to 90% usage...
Nice try...
What? No.
Borderless window is not the issue. Hell, I play a lot of games in borderless and never got this issue.
This is way worse.
It's a driver/api saturation.
Instead of using their stem engine (that is already based off a not that good engine, idtech5), they should have used idtech6 with vulkan api.
All issues would have been solved.
Now they will have to work really hard to optimise their game bits by bits.
its funny you say that..iv never had good performance from vaulkin at all.. doom was a stuttery mess for me .but setting open gl buttery smooth.
That's what i do. 660 TI. Stable 30 when locked on 30, 1080p, Medium Settings (Not that it matters, because there aren't any settings for texture fidelity, everything else is more subtle the higher you go, but taxes the performance). If people with a 1080TI are having problems, then something IS wrong. But there is no shame in using lower options with lower cards. After all, this IS PC. So none of the settings are locked, and the perk of using a PC is scalable options, from low, to high, to ultra. If people judge everything on ultra, and like you MUST game on ultra, because PCMOSTAHRUC, might as well LOCK all the settings then and ship the games like on consoles. There is a reason why lower and higher settings exists. And that is exactly why gaming on PC is good.
Now, to the main topic. We all know the game doesn't use 100% of the GPU usage, no matter the card. But it might be some other problem other than borderless. Because my GPU hits 100% when using borderless on some other games. Not saying that it isn't a problem, and it might be related to micro-stuttering every X minutes for a quarter of second. At least i can tolerate it, unlike in some other games *cough* Batman *cough*
Each case is different.Every api has compatibility issues, and it's really hard to work all of them through. Vulkan is still young, and not that used. It doesn't help its compatibility developpement.
OpenGL 4.5 is still a better api than DirectX11. A little less performant, but has a way lower overhead.
idtech5 strikes again
Yep, exactly
Nice pic man. =)
