Sebastian acts
almost as if the first game never happened. Just in the way he reacts to all the monsters and what not early on in the game as if he's never seen how ♥♥♥♥ed up STEM is before.

Acts all surprised when he sees zombies rather than saying something like "oh no, not again"

You can tell the creative team does not have the same understanding of attention to detail that the team behind the first game had.

Attention to detail? Seb hardly reacted to anything in the first game. If anything seb in the first game should act as he does in the sequel.

Completely ignoring the fact that he menions Beacon multiple times and even said "it is beacon all over again".

Think hes meaning the overall character of sebastion. The first game he was a detective thats trying to figure out what the ♥♥♥♥ is going on. He only reacted the way you the player would as well.

They kinda made sebastion into an idiot in this 2nd game. Nearly everyone who played the first game and understood the story has pieced everything together before the 2nd game came out. So Sebastion should have been able to figure everything out as well.

Instead hes practically lost his mind at the start of the game. The entire Anima story in the 2nd game is basically showing how much of an idiot sebastion is. The person who he was in the 1st game would never have gotten this low.

It's practically an entire new character this time around, and a very stupidly written one as well.

It's not just sebastion either. All the characters in this game are written by some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Saddest part for me though was kidman. They also made kidman into an idiot as well which is rather sad. She was good in the first game since you could never tell what side she was on. Even with the DLC. Here though, everything mysterious about her is completely gone.

So everyone became an idiot to you in this game and everyone was way better in the first game.
Got it, no point in arguing with you.

The only idiot in the first game is Joseph because he trys to kill himself after you save him. Which Sebastion basically says after he grabs the gun from him.

The characters in TEW2 dnt do idiotic decisions though. They just have dialogue written by an actual idiot. Either that or they translated everything from Japanese to English very badly.

I fail to see how the dialogue is bad.
The first one barely had any so I welcome the change, especially for seb.

I don't get it besides kidmans dlc in the first game. Sebastian hardly had anything representing a character, he just went through everything with a straight face the entire time. Least he's an actual character in the sequel.

Agreed, Rhyzak x Revy has yet to provide any actual examples, reasoning, and analysis to how TEW1 characters are better written than TEW2; Merely stating his surface opinion and expect others to agree without putting any effort in demonstrating his / her viewpoint.

I think that both of the scripts are equally bad, only in first one you couldnt rly feel it since most of the game sebastian wasnt saying that much and we had no idea whats going on. Im still playing ew2, and i have very strong urge to skip all the cutscenes, mainly thanks to terrible, and i mean terrible voice acting of sebastian. I doubt its entirerly actors fault, since the dialogue script itself its written by someone who is either not entirely sure what emotions are, or just felt the urgue to remind us every fdasda dialog how much guilt does sebastian feel. Its god awful, straight out of japanese visual novel. I also love how he keeps on asking himself whether the things he sees are real, or just in his head, which is absurd considering he is in simulation anyway.

Bonus points to writer for using every possible conversation cliche like
"And one more thing/ dramatic pause/ good luck"

edit :
Just had to add this one, great sebastian's one liner
"im gonna hunt him down like the dog he is' - i just have no words xd

Not only absurd considering he's self aware that he's in a simulation, but he'd also been through an extremely similar experience in the first evil within and found out how STEM works.

So at the start of the game when he's walking around saying things like "What the hell" and "What the..." like he's all confused it makes no sense!

He's seen many scary zombies before!! He shouldn't be acting like it's something new.

And it was better for it. Nobody wants too much of characters with terrible voice acting lol. Makes watching cutscenes a chore.

Yet it makes for a far believable character. plus what lines are said are just as bad if not worse.
