anticlimatic ending
Dont get me wrong I enjoyed this game as much as every other portal game, but i couldnt help but feel like the final fight was just a bit underwhelming.
Like you dont see Stirling again since plugging him in and i understand this is the part of the story in-between portal 1 and 2, but what does the spire teleporting GLaDOS parts and the moon base type ending have anything to do with the build up of Portal 2?

Yeah, that ending was a disappointment. My game went into a death loop right at the very end, so I had to play a good bit over again to actually see the ending, so it was a real letdown to get ... that.
No resolution, no explanation, just yellow stuff coming out of the tower and now we're on the moon or something? And there's a working stasis lab on the moon? A letdown that doesn't make a lot of sense.
Fun game, but poor ending.

Did you watch the after credits scene?

After doing the last room twice to get a achivement, I noticed that after you know how to beat the room it's easy to get back to the progress you already had there. I don't know if you noticed but there was a checkpoint right before pushing the first button that could been loaded from the menue.
So normally you don't loose that much progress. At least less than 5 minutes. ^^

I almost did not; I had to resume the game since it booted me to black screen (then the main menu) with no credits at all.

i agree, the ending is so abrupt and it doesn't seem to make much sense. i was actually quite surprised because the entire mod was made exceptionally well, so i would have expected a more impressive ending. when it suddenly just went to black, i was like, that was it...? the post credit scene just created more confusion

I agree about it being anti-climatic, however it seems like the a whole section of aperature was teleported away so that could be reason for the post credit scene

I wish it was different from Portal 2...

it feels like they left it open to a after portal 2 mod as well, and it could be argued that the spire blowing up caused wheatley to freak out and wake up chell then moon portal allows revolutions protag to come back

Interesting theory.

But Ockham's Razor would have a word to tell.

We seriously need a portal game set on the moon. Now that would be hard, because there is nothing to do on. Like how would that facility look like?.

But man oh man would it be a fresh coat of paint, quite literally. Suddeny you can have puzzles without gravity, extreme temperatures and wide open spaces.

i don't understand the ending at all after watching walkthrough. It seems like they were rushed to release it in early 2024 due to "news updates"

This would also be risky game design wise as much as I'd love to see a game not set in Aperture for once.

what i don't understand is "the Boss fight" people keep "talking" about.
What boss?
All you do is repeating the same thing 4 times too press a button 3-4 times

Which is not that different from the final boss of Portal 1.

GladOS fixed it though by severing the portal when she took over.
