Portal Lighting

I loved the dynamic lights on the portal gun, specifically the orange and blue lights whenever you placed a portal, but ||that doesn't carry over to the others? I know the red/blue portal gun doesn't have that same type of lighting, which is really disappointing given how much of an impact that made on the visuals.||

The second gun you get (red / blue) is a different version (not sure if older or newer). If older, the indication light surely was an upgrade.

I checked about this on the discord server, and apparently portal lights are only available on autoportals, which answers my question.
