Controller issues.
So I've been playing DMC5 with a pc controller (you know the kind, button layout like a PS controller, but buttons labeled like XBox) and it was working just fine, however when I was playing through mission 8, I finished a combat scene and my character landed, but Nero wouldn't move when I moved the toggles.
I fiddled around for a little bit to see if I was just stuck, attacking, using my devil breaker, but no matter how far I moved my character, I just couldn't start moving normally again. So, I finished out the mission on KB&M and then restarted the game to see if that would help. (Funnily enough, when the game was paused, I could navigate the menus fine with the toggles)
The game loaded up and I popped my character into the Void to see if it had fixed the problem.
It hadn't.
BUT, as I was flailing around with my toggle trying to get my character to move, I noticed something odd. In the bottom left corner, where the visual of the controller that shows what buttons you're pressing at any given time, I saw that whenever I moved the toggle, the game was registering D-Pad inputs? Curious now, I started pressing the buttons on the D-Pad and lo and behold, my character starts moving around! Somewhere between my controller and the game, the inputs are being swapped. Can anyone think of a way to fix this? I can still technically play with the controls as they are, but the movement and combat with the d-pad aren't nearly as smooth as the joystick.

So I kinda found the issue? Looks like the game will always take input from the controller, whether you're tabbed in or not. I was able to circumvent the issue by setting my game to windowed when planning on multitasking, placing it on my second screen.

THE MOST IMPORTANT PART: do not cross your mouse through the window as this will cause the game to lock up. You will be able to use chrome, open other apps, etc while still controlling the game.

Sounds like if it recognizes two simultaneous input methods, it doesnt know what to do or which to prioritize so it just gets stuck. Maybe the inputs happen at the same time and the game gets caught in a loop?
