DMC 5 and OBS
Hello there, General Kenobi

did anyone yet manage to capture DMC 5 gameplay with OBS?

At fullscreen, the video remains black. At borderless, I get an image at least, but it's stuttery as sh*t. I even tried capping to 60fps or lowering my monitor refresh rate down to 60Hz, but that didn't help either.

OBS is running under administrator-mode and I certainly know how to handle this software, since I've been streaming and capturing for a couple of months now.
Strangewise, doing the same with AMD ReLive works ok-ish (although not perfect), but the mic-quality with ReLive is just absolutely abysmal...

So if anyone knows how to set up DMC or OBS to go hand in hand, I'm open for any advice...

I had that problem and for me, the solution was updating OBS to the newer version. The one I had didn't managed to show DMC5 no matter what.

well, OBS is already running with the newest update, so that didn't help

I'm a filthy paid XSplit user, but I had to set the game to run in DX11 before the game would even load properly with the recording software open, let alone get it to hook properly. It seems like DX12 doesn't play nice with recording software, but changing the game to run in DX11 made it run perfectly. I initially thought it was the DRM, but thankfully is isn't. Try this and see if it works.

I already changed it to DX11, otherwise it would crash right away at the start. So DX12 wasn't even working at all.
So that didn't solve the issue.

Strange thing is: I tried re-installing my GPU drivers yesterday. Tried out the newest one and changed back to the one I've been using ever since November 18. This didn't change anything.
I fumbled again with my settings in OBS and actually managed to record 2 Minutes of gameplay while repeating a secret mission. So I thought "this solved it, wonderful" - but it didn't. I loaded the 3rd mission and started recording - after I was done, the video was the same usless mess as before.
So there must be something wrong with the game, I honestly don't know....

I'm playing DMC5 regular, using OBS

I only have these "flickers" when i tab out to check if it is recording, but the video itself doesn't have them.

What i DID notice though is that when i record DMC5 using OBS, it records my steam/geforce overlay, regardless if i tick or untick "record overlays".

To fix this i just disabled steam overlay and disabled Experience FPS counter

it's not flickering, the video is simply a pile of ♥♥♥♥ with images stopping for multiple seconds while the sound continues normally.

are you using GPU or CPU encoding in OBS?

the only way to stream with this game is using display capture and not window or game capture i really dont know whats wrong but they need to figure it out.
I did have the problem after updating my OBS to the latest version. What i did to fix that is restore OBS to its default settings.
