Game won't start?
Have reinstalled a few times at this point, so that doesn't fix it. Trying to open the game through steamapps with the exe file brings up the errors "code execution cannot proceed because concrt140.dll was not found." and two more but "msvcp140.dll" "vcruntime140.11" in the place of concrt140. Anyone have any advice?

I have this same issue after multiple re-installs and file verifications and when I check the game folder it shows the whole game in one unpacked file, "re_chunk_000.pak". I'm guessing this means that the game does not unpack itself, which causes it to miss integral files. There are no data folders at all, just the exe, amd and steam dlls, this .pak file and a patch .pak file. I have no idea how to fix this beyond waiting for a patch or finding a way to directly contact support.

I'll try chucking it in the issue reporting megathread, hopefully they'll notice and patch it soon

not sure if this covers your problem, this is what was the solution to mine though for fatal application exit error, worth a shot i suppose
it turns out the solution for me was to let Windows Update get up to date believe it or not. But after letting it Update through Windows Update the game worked the first time I tried it. Evidently, this game Devil May Cry 5 uses some windows media player codec for the cut scenes that is dependent on files locked inside Windows Update. Hope this helps someone else! =} Have fun.

If anyone still hasn't had this issue resolved for them, I was able to get it resolved today. To solve it you either need to download vc redlist x64 and x86. I didn't know this because I already had them installed. If they are already installed, what you can do is go into your control panel, search for add or remove programs (windows 10 remove programs actually doesn't work) and right click on the most recent (year) vc redlist files and select modify. That will bring up a little window where you can uninstall or repair. Just click on repair and the game should work.

Doesn't work for me either. I hate how Steam sells us broken games! This is the 3rd one I purchased NEW that's BROKEN! Steam fix your stuff! We are moving to Epic Games!
