does max devil trigger gauge increase power ?

i been playing dmd difficulty all along with 1 missing devil trigger gauge and today i collected remaining 4. But my curiosity is it seems like my characters' damage also increased. is it just my feeling or does purple orb does also increase damage asides from longer devil trigger form?

DT increases speed and power of the character's attacks, adds new moves and changes some moves to increase damage.
However, increasing DT bar doesn't increase damage.

Ironically Nero's BP taunt will increase/decrease damage by 20% depending on the gauge.

Dante's BP taunt works the same way.
However, it's not a permanent damage increase.

iirc both of their damage buffs last as long as they don't get hit.
