i cant get mods to work anymore. help please

im currently using the exe that allows ultrawide resolutions. is that the reason? so many mods i wanna use but none of them are working. :( if anyone could help me out that would be cool. thanks

Have you tried it out without the ultrawide .exe? If so shouldn't be just a matter of making the mod manager recognise the ultrawide exe as the launcher?

Yes, that is most likely the reason. Update your game to the latest version/exe, then for ultrawide use this:

Then make sure Fluffy Manager 5000 is updated to the latest version as well and mods should work again.

Alright, let's go step by step: is your DMC5 installed the default location, or did you install it to a different one? And did you allow Fluffy Manager to Re-read the game archives?

its not in the default location. i installed it to one of my SSDs. and yes i re read the archives

also fluffy is updated. ive tried everything. i just dont understand what could be causing my issues.

Okay, I've got an idea: open your Fluffy install then go to Games > DMC5. Aside from the "mods" folder, do you see other files labeled "archive" or "modinofcache"? If so delete ALL of the files EXCEPT the "mods" folder (make sure all mods are uninstalled before you do this), then close fluffy, re-open it again, and try to install a mod.

so i deleted everything minus the "mod" folder. the game wont launch. i get a black screen, and the files i deleted were recreated

All mods were uninstalled beforehand, right? Verify the game files of DMC5 on Steam and give it one more shot.

No worries, this is really strange. You aren't extracting the mods, right? You're leaving them in the .rar archive? If anything, maybe try to get into contact with Fluffy Quack himself, you probably can on the mod page.

if i dont extract them they dont show up at all

Okay, that sounds like a problem with Fluffy Manager itself. Most mods are supposed to be left in the .rar archives and then will show up in the mod list in Fluffy.

ok now they show up when i dont exttract them. i think i'll just message the creator. and if that doesnt work then i guess im just sold outta luck lol

That sounds like much more normal behavior. Good luck, I hope you get it resolved! I'll still post back here if I think of anything unorthodox that might fix it!
