Facing Dante with Vergil. Massive difficulty spike. Not cool at all. Suggestions needed.
Two seconds away from uninstalling. Vergil was not this hard when I was playing as Dante. The difficulty spike doesn't even make sense compared to the rest of Vergil's campaign. Any help is appreciated.

I used 2 gold orbs too, just to beat him on devil hunter. I just felt so unprepared for it, no fight in the game even remotely got close to this, i didnt expect dante to be anywhere near easy, but i straight up felt like it was a TEKKEN match and Dante was just not letting up. I hated using gold orbs but i frankly dont care all that much, not the end of the world.
lol Tekken is a good comparison because once you get hit, you're not in control again until Dante lets you hit the ground.

I'm happy that Capcom gave the option to revive, and that all the missions in the game give you space to move around. The same cannot be said for a game like Sekiro.

Dante/Vergil don't need it, since their mission is just them alone, but it'd be nice if there was an enemy/boss training mode. Bloody Palace doesn't count because, as far as I know anyway, you can't skip to any particular floor.
I think the difficulty in the game would be so much easier to handle honestly if there was a way to repeat fights fast. Nothing is more infuriating then having to watch the camera pan out "the final judgement yadda yadda yadda" restart, intro, all this takes like 15 seconds to replay just the dante fight.

They needed the void to be like a fighting games training mode. let me spawn any enemy, do any attack, or set them on auto, and just let me practice. But its just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ nightmare to practice in this game tbh

also i gave up on sekiro i think, 20 minutes in lmao. I just wanna do cool ♥♥♥♥ and have fun in games, i really have very little to prove that i can master a games weird combat pacing, only for it to not really matter at all ever in anything again, brain just doesnt care lol. Seems like a fun game tho

I have to admit, Dante's difficulty really took me by surprise, in the sense he kicked my ass for a good hour (legit managed to no damage kill me with his judgement cut reverse). So believe me the best way to deal with him that I have found is to bait him into a combo,dodge/jump out of the way then move around the side and punish him from the back. Try either a damaging Beowulf combo or to get him in the air and use yamatos combos to get that style/concentration up.
Also keep firing mirage daggers at him at all times, for damage and to block pistol shots from his rainstorm attack.
Also if you see Dante use cerberus , he will stun lock you if you get hit so play the distance game when you see it.
Good luck

Yup. This would be ideal. Maybe even a slow motion or color change highlights to teach you some of the hitboxes on your end and the enemy's end. But that would maybe make it too easy.

But definitely, the time it takes to fully die and restart is much too long. It practically incentivizes wasting gold orbs and not learning the game properly since it takes so long to retry.

I'll take these tips into DMD with me for when I get there. Thank you!

If you want to play it safe, Stinger him only after he completes a combo. It looks like only the first hit of his combos can be parried, so if that is not viable, wait it out and punish after. Dante is meant to be harder than Vergil. Every move must be a deliberate choice or you are going to get bodied hard.
Must I remind you that you fight Dante himself? You know.... THE LEGENDARY DEVIL HUNTER DANTE?

Of course its gonna be tough, and only solution is to get better at the game. Don't think he didn't mop the floor with me, it was brutal, but you know... I learned, and I prevailed. No need to complain on forum for my lack of skills.

It's disrespectful to speak to people that way
Sure the whole GitGud thing is disrespectful
But that’s because you haven’t demonstrated why your worthy of being respected.

GitGud basicly means improve on your own.
You already said you button mashed your way though the entire game. Now you hit a roadblock when the game finally put something infront of you that requires skill.

There really isn’t much that can help you, beyond you learning how to play the game better.
Hence the term “GitGud”
Anyone saying that line is worthy of the same respect they're dishing out. None at all. There's ways to be respectful and ways to be disrespectful.

I visualize them as the giant pile of crap like in the movie Weird Science where Chet is turned into an actual pile of crap. Because you need to be a pile of crap to speak to another person that way for no reason.

If you have nothing useful or helpful to say, say nothing at all. Its called having manners.

The game taught me mashing was okay. Then all of a sudden it's telling me mashing isn't okay. The game taught me that stringing combos together with little need to dodge and look for openings was alright. The game awarded me with primarily S ranks for that behavior.

If the game is giving me predominantly S ranks at the end of each mission, then the game itself is telling me I'm playing it the way I'm supposed to play it. That is the game's fault, not mine.

people dont deserve respect unless they beat a video game? come on guy what logic is this, theres no honor to be gained by beating a game, or claiming superiority of it. Get Gud is telling the other person "there is nothing to learn besides that you are ♥♥♥♥" which is so untrue, DMC is a insanely complicated game, and some people arent great to start. This is a game about combos, frame perfect counters and frame perfect moves, combo chaining, this ♥♥♥♥ isnt just like buildin a house in minecraft, theres more advice to give someone.

The guy that gave full advice, like how the cerberus just WILL stunlock you and tell you to attack from the side after dodging a combo, that ♥♥♥♥ helps. "get gud" is "I have no advice to give, you suck"

He's disabled, and his advice is "git gud". That's really it, like it or not you gotta learn how to play the game.

Well gee, no need to be so salty. Nobody here is gotta play the game for you, and if you can't deal with it just purchase super costumes and tons of red orbs. People can write an entire wall of text about fighting Dante, but it means nothing if you can't react fast enough or learn Dante's moves.

"What, need me to hold your hand or something?" - Gene from God Hand

Multiple times in the thread I've said I've beaten Dante now.

Do I have to tell you again that I already beat him? Since I've now beaten Dante, that puts me in the right according to your respectability rating.

Being that you are learning slower, much slower, than I was with Dante, does that give me the right to call you slow, mentally handicapped, autistic, dumb, or illiterate? I sure could, but it would be a really nasty thing to do.

Follow me here now:

1) I beat Dante, your insults are pointless and you're grasping at straws because you have such low self esteem that you need to attack me over a video game
2) It's not hard for me to insult back. You've already exposed yourself as a low quality person that will not make friends very easily as a couple of the others have also.
What the hell are you talking about?

I did not insult you once, I just told you to get better at the game. I used handicapped dude as an example because he only blames his lack of skill for not being better at the game instead of making excuses. Not once did I say you're worthless if you can't play a video game like a god either.

And unlike you, at least I don't go around crying in forums because video game character mopped the floor with me. Doesn't matter how long it takes, I have nobody to blame but myself for my lack of skills.

This is the second time you've posted nothing useful at all and are disrespecting another person over their ability to mindread a video game.

Either give advice for others to fight Dante, since I've now beaten him by using the very few tips in this thread by people who offered actual advice, or ♥♥♥♥ off squeaker.

what does this prove at all. Im also disabled and i couldnt beat dante, so you let me know what that means, considering a disability has nothing to do with what were talking about. The problem is you cant offer advice because you have nothing to tell people. No moves of Dantes to be wary of and to avoid, no timings, nothing. You talk like a person who has 0 expirence even fighting Dante. "GET GUD" only works if you have actual help to give lmao, otherwise you look just as clueless

you seem insanely arrogant and acting like youre better than people because theyre asking for advice lmao, youre pathetic and its people like you that basically prove to me theres nothing to gain by playing other games in this series, because no matter what some loser will sit above you and ♥♥♥♥ on your head when you ask for help.

What actual advice can you give, if none, why are you here other than to prove a superiority over video games, like get a life please i beg you.

Every other boss in the you have the opportunity to just go ham on them until they eventually die.
Dante ain't having that ♥♥♥♥, this fight is a little bit more like a dance just like it is when you fight vergil. The difference is that now you're doing the tango instead of break dancing.
