aaaaaaaaaaaaaa, I was thinking in general
idk, my guy. that there looks like a poop face to me
I saw what they did with lady's nose. God. Looked better with trish in older games xd
Trish got the harshest treatment out of the lot to the point that I'm thinking a baseball bat was involved during the cosmetic updates.
But the one that bothers me the most out of all of them has to be Virgil. Granted both time and the pure meme-age that spawned from his appearance in 5 as softened this over the years, but it simply just does not resemble him from the previous games. Like at all.
And come ooooonnnn. How can anyone say no to that smile.

It's just like MaiiyourCat said, she just matured from her dmc3 appearance. Which I might add she was of questionably age in that game. Taken into account, for someone who is straddling her 40's, she's looks fab as hell. Especially when you factor in that she's the only human in the entire bunch yet seen just as much action as the rest of them.
.....Good lord, I'm re-reading what I have type-out here and I feel... weebish af.
Yet I regret nothing.
I don't know what you mean by meme-age, but I think you mean that Vergil doesn't look as old as he should look in the dmc5, but it was explained many times here why this happened (time in hell). This about the apperence.
Why Vergil softened it is because of influence of V on him it was explained too.
Lady doesn't look good in some scenes too, but she looks fine in overall. All characters have their flawns in their look, but it is a gold, because they don't look perfect, just the same like all people in reality. If I would share here some artworks or screenshots even from steam community of dante or vergil, they look as gorgeous as lady on the link you posted.
"I am the storm...", "Lack proper motivation", plastic-white lawn-chairs, monster energy with slick sunglasses on, etc. This particular version of him from 5, breaking out of the game and into internet culture, made him incredibly endearing imo. Flaws and all.
And you right, i'm for sure cherry-picking my Lady pics here, haha. Which is why I conveniently never mentioned her appearance in dmc4 when bringing up her age between games.
In the end it's all silly internet fun, and I'm enjoying the banter. If anything I really just miss the pointy chinned anime look from games gone by.
But yeah, respect Maiiyourcat. Love the passion you bring to the table
Nico's model is pretty, and they did a fine job hiding it behind quirky character traits.
Lady's face model is beautiful but the square jawline is just not Lady at all.
Vergil's face model fits his chatacer but he should be Dante's twin no matter what.
No real thoughts on V, he looks... ok I guess.
Nero's face is ugh. Way too different from what he's supposed to be.
I hate his entire design, to be honest. Horrible downgrade from 4.
Trish got her DMC1-2 body back which is great.
But that face model is an abomination, completely unacceptable.
And, of couse, Morrison should be white with blonde hair.
All arguments against it are invalid because the original anime is canon.
P.S.
I absolutely hate how they've made Dante, Vergil, and Nero look lean.
They're tall dudes with definitive musculature, not athletes
Mother of god, LiL'PP... I watched that anime ages ago and not for one second put 2&2 together here.
F'ck me, who knew I was one of these super fake dmc fans I've been reading all about in these forums as of late
I also have the impression that you can already guess characters personality just by looking at them and that's a cool thing that the creators managed to reflect this in their appearance. However, for me Vergil will always be number one when it comes to appearance and character design in the whole series. In DMC5 I like him the most, especially his facial features~ very chiseled, which gives him that certain "thing" to his whole persona.
Also maybe I'm one of the few people, but it's good that Dante and Vergil don't look identical anymore and have different face models, for me they fit them very well and thanks to this, they look more natural in this game. I have to admit that I agree with the previous person, the men are a bit too lean, looking at their weight, the characters should be even more built, just as a side note.
Apart from the character's appearance, I must agree about the level design~ the environment in the game doesn't look very interesting, the developers could have put more emphasis on it, but that's just my opinion.
