Do you think Vergil has any good traits that might redeem him?

It's a little hard to say in the current situation, after that Vergil decided to end the fight with Dante, we don't know exactly what his behavior will be like now, but Vergil seems to have picked up some traits from V and has started listening to "him" more, so his values have probably changed.
Also V opened Vergil's eyes to what happened and finally admitted that now he saw what he did, although what has happened will not be undone. Vergil is always arrogant, but maybe he got a little humility about it all~ everyone will have a different opinion on this.
The thing is that the game's narrative is quite poor, it doesn't focus so much on it and broadly defined morality, but it is better presented in "Visions of V"~ you can understand his perspective a little more. Vergil has always been a character who listens to his demon half, suppressed his human half, so his fate turned out this way.

To the topic. Everybody forgets Vergil isn't a human being, there live 2 beings in him. He stopped what Urizen did, nothing else could be done. Vergil has already been through his own hell and is broken.

1) He's a weeb got cool katana skills.

2) He doesnt lie.

3) He has a whole humanity arc with V.

4) He wouldnt kill Dante after winning in 3, and honestly neither Vergil NOR Dante would have killed each other in 5 even if Nero didnt interfere ala Vergil's ending.

Nah. Twice he has almost ended the world just for the sake of beating his brother in a fight. Even when you beat Urizen V gives into his urges and unites himself and then proceeds to once again fight his brother during which he says he does not care about Nero.

Even when Nero beats Vergil he's still a sore loser, says he and Dante still need to settle things and only really seems interested in Nero now because he is strong.

Also both times where Vergil is the villain he has:

- Summoned a giant structure in a misguided attempt for power
- Beat Dante to within an inch of his life then yeets him off structure
- Caused someone to unlock their devil powers
- Brothers team up right at the end and Vergil ends up in underworld

No. Fighting or killing Dante wasn't Vergil's priority, it was just a result, because Vergil objective was power and Dante crossed his road in dmc3, that's how the conflict begins.
