There are some more but I do believe DMC6 or something DMC related is in the works. It was always going to be a while before the next one. DMC5SE was only two and a half years ago and that was during Covid and a lot of DMC team shuffled off to other projects. Then there is the chance 6 will only happen with Itsuno but he is busy with Dragon's Dogma II right now. 2025 at the earliest is my guess for more DMC. Let's just pray it isn't getting the remake treatment because then 6 is even further away.
As for Resident Evil, the game is popular and easier to make and it earns the millions. Resident Evil is Capcom's golden child and of course it will be the main priority. Stoping people from buying RE won't really help DMC. Both games are completely different. RE is survival action horror and DMC is hack and slash.
Also fun fact: if RE wasn't a thing, DMC wouldn't have existed. DMC1 was a scrapped RE4 project.
Has been correct so far, but its clear that Capcom had to delay a ton of their games due to 2020 happening.
there is also the Vergil's Downfall DLC for DMC: Devil May Cry in case you missed it, it has additional story content with 6 missions
Its cool we get to play other Characters once the "Mainstory" is done but why not give us sidestorys? They did it in DMC Reboot...finally a Vergil only Story to play.
Why not for 5? nooo we can play Vergil but its just the same Campaign with no cutscenes. That kinda makes DmC5 look like a Cheap Sideproject Game.
Capcom be like: oh we have some freetime before we do the next Game, we could quickly produce another Dmc.
Create a DMC where Dante Nero Vergil and who knows maybe someone new added to the mix have different paths to go like they did with the whole Nero/V/Dante mainstory in Dmc5 but have each Char create their own Story and once the Player plays all Chars it greats the Full Story and it becomes Mindblowing never would have guessed kinda Scenario.
And I really really want at least 20hrs+ Story.
if i put all Dmc's together thats about what 30-40 hours at Most. Sure making us play each difficulty to unlock a harder one must work great cause it keeps us busy for abit and creates the illusion that wow people play so many hours in a Dmc Game, yeah cause we had to unlock Dante must die in order to play Dante must die xD.
Anyways enough Talk. Much <3 to the Devil may cry Community.

Giving each character a full set of 20 levels is ridiculous. Unless they keep it to only 2 characters, and even then that’s stretching it.
Or split the characters into teams and have a smaller set of levels for each team. So DMC4 but with a Dante team and a Nero team (maybe 2 characters per side and 10 levels per team)
What you’re describing there is just Sonic Adventure 2 format honestly. Which works there, but also Dreamcast games being much easier to make than a full PS5/PC game with all it’s expected effects.
And like DMC, that game makes up being short by having a lot of extras. You’re not meant to play a single 20 hour story, but a much longer time but with extras/replays
