How does the Red Orb DLC work? Few questions.
The red orb DLC comes with a note.

"Note: Purchased Red Orbs are saved to your save data, and so will be unrecoverable if you delete your save data. The maximum number of Red Orbs you can have is 99,999,999, and additional orbs above this number will not be added. These orbs will not count towards your records, and will not be reflected if you are playing Bloody Palace. "

What does it mean by deleting my save data? Does that mean that this bonus will only apply on a starting save, and further new-games will not give me these orbs? I mean, buying DLC ties it to my steam account, so I'm a bit unsure of how this would work. If this only applies to a single game and then never again, this seems like a pretty big rip off, but if it applies to all games (which the note seems to imply the opposite of), then I can see it being a fun shortcut to unlocking abilities instead of grinding/waiting for em.

If I buy all the available DLC red orb packs, will I get all of them at once?

I recall the special edition of DMC4 had a DLC to get proud souls, which let you unlock almost every skill in the game (which I thought was based). Will this DLC act in the same way for DMC5? As in, how much will buying al the red orb DLC packs really give me, in terms of how much I can unlock with them?

Thanks.

Red Orb total is tied to your save file, so you lose it if you delete it. Wouldn't bother with the Red Orb DLC anyway, it's easy to farm Red Orbs as is.

I would also like to know the answer to this question. Since it's a DLC, it should apply even if I start a brand new game and/or reinstall the game from scratch shouldn't it?

Another example (and way of wording it): what if I bought this DLC before I ever played the game? So at the moment of purchase of the DLC there is no save game file.

You can consider the Orbs DLC as a consumable item you get on Steam for this game. Once you use it on your current save data, you won't be able to use it again for a new save if you decide to delete the existing one.

Interesting. So the extra orbs DLC doesn't appear in your DLC list when you select "manage game" in Steam and select the DLC tab?

If it does appear in the DLC list tab then:
What if you completely reinstalled the game fresh down the road? You're saying if it's been used once, it can't be used again? How would it keep track of this since it's a DLC?

The Extra Orbs DLC will remain in your DLC list, but you won't be able to redeem it again on new save data. When you purchase this DLC, there's a note that states:

"Purchased Red Orbs are saved to your save data and will be unrecoverable if you delete your save data. The maximum number of Red Orbs you can have is 99,999,999, and additional orbs above this number will not be added. Starting a fresh game is not a straightforward process anyway. You will have to disable Steam Cloud, delete backup data, and delete save files from the game directory.

Thanks for your reply Bubley.

Yes, I saw that note on the DLC store page, which is why I'm posting about it.

Do you own these orb DLCs and have you ever tried start a fresh game by disabling Steam cloud, deleting backup data and deleting save files from the game directory?

Because it seems to me, if this is done, the orbs DLC should apply to the next game save as well. How else would the game know not to since it's a DLC installed with the game?

Please understand, I'm not trying to be argumentative, I'm just following a logical process here.

Yes, I have done it. This is the ONLY way to start a new game (fresh empty file). I don't know how the game tracks that I've used the DLC. This is not the only game that has these kinds of consumable DLCs. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided has some weapon packs that can be activated one-time only as well.
