Can I play with Vergil first?

Playing as Vergil disables most of the cutscenes, including all of the ones that contain the game's plot. I would not play as him first, assuming that you can in the first place.

Highly recommend you don't do your first playthrough with Vergil. The game is not designed around him and you'll miss practically all of the story if you start with Vergil.

Vergil doesn't get his own story, a couple cutscences at the beginning and end, but thats it. He goes through all of the stages that Dante, Nero, and V go through by himself. There is a major difference in the last 2 missions but I won't spoil it. Dante, Nero, and V's version of the campaign is where the plot resides.
