For me its a matter of trial and error and learning boss patterns. I know it's the obvious answer and all but it really is what helped me so far, still haven't beaten HaH but I am on my way there
There is an easy way to take care of the bosses as Nero without dying or getting hit, which is by stay far away from them and to use your charge shot on them with your gun. It takes a while to take them down that way, but it is much safer.
To deal with the Fury's, get the ragtime arm and use that on them. You can play it safe by casting slow sphere on him, hit him once or twice, and cast it again. Or you overcharge ragtime to slow down everything around you for a good while and unleash a big enough combo on Fury to kill him outright.
V is pretty straight forward. Just stay away from enemies and either spam X and Y, or hold X to charge your birds lightning attack which does really good dmg and hits multiple foes at once. Use nightmare whenever you can, either to have him tank the enemies to be more safe, or to finish off fights quick. Just make sure to have your nightmare gauge charged up to near max when you get at a boss. Also, don't fight everything you come across. You can skip any fights that don't have those red barriers up. You can go back to those fights if you are in dire need of nightmare fuel/gauge.
The bosses can prove a little tricky with V, since the lock on system is kinda broke in this game. The only time you can switch between targets is by standing still and pressing the left stick or right stick. You can't do it while moving around. This is especially annoying when you are fighting against Nidhogg. Perhaps it is better to just wack Nidhogg himself, until he disappears. Then you can focus on the snakes without too much trouble. Nightmare is your best bet to take out those snakes. Just hope that he is going to use his laser attack against them. Make sure to dodge both Nidhogg's and the snakes attacks with double jumps. Also, something to keep in mind is when you ride nightmare in Hell and Hell or HaH, once he gets hit while you are riding on top of him, he is going to die instantly. This however is not the case when you let him do his own stuff. Nightmare is invincible as long as you don't ride him.
Dante is a little more difficult. I can give you some tips but not a whole lot. I'm not as good with him compared to the other two characters.
Obviously you want to charge your Sin Devil Trigger with him as much as possible, since it is going to make a lot of the fights a lot easier. Make sure to double jump up in the air before transforming to get yourself in a safe spot. You might even want to use Devil Trigger for a triple jump to get even higher, but you don't have to necessarily. Then as soon as you can, unleash The Luce on your enemies and hold the button for as long as it lasts. Then you can either shoot some balls at the enemies and/or straight up use his ultimate attack by pushing X and Y at the same time. This should kill most of the enemies in your encounters, unless it is Nobody's. Surprisingly enough, those guys are really tanky. They're the ones on four legs and with that big arm sticking out from their backs.
To deal with the Fury's as Dante, use King Cerberus's Ice Age ability. Ice Age will surround you in a globe of ice, protecting you from incoming damage. When Fury is about to attack you, press back+forward and then Y to cast Ice Age on you. Fury's attack will get countered as soon as he hits you with Ice Age being active. Get right up in his face after that and unleash your combo on him. Rince and repeat until he is dead. You can tell when he is going to attack you by his red claws glowing up. If you see his claws glowing bright red, prepare to use Ice Age. That should do the trick. It is obviously going to be more difficult when there is more enemies around. In that case, you might want to use your Sin Devil Trigger to take out everything around you, and Fury himself even.
When it comes to some of the boss fights, you might want to consider using Double Kalina Ann with Cascade shot. Switch to gunslinger and hold down B as long as you can. It does a ridiculous amount of damage, charges your Devil Trigger for quite a lot, and can stun bosses if you do enough damage to them with it, or hit a certain threshold I guess. It is really risky to use, but some of the bosses tend to have like charge up moves. Those are obviously the best times for you to use Cascade on them.
That's all for now.
