Can someone explain how style points works in this game?

I remember style points being easier to understand in dmc4, there was a faq that explained eveything you could do to raise style and not only that but getting S rank in the end of the mission was a lot easier (ok, the red orb total % was ♥♥♥♥, but still) because you knew what gives you a lot of points and harder difficults gives you a multiplier.

I cant understand at all how style points works in this one and how the s rank in the end of the missions is calculated. Sometimes i don't get hit and kill all enemies fast with exceed, kalina ann, etc and even reaching s or ss rank it gives me 3800-4200 style points, sometimes i dont use exceed at all and kill enemies a little slower, staying with A rank for 80% of the time and reaching S rank sometimes and it gives me 4400+. I saw some youtubers spammin the same move in the air and getting a lot of points too. I can't, for the love of god, reach S rank on mission 8 because it has a higher score requiriment and i cant reach high style points in the battles to get to it, i don't even know where the final style point in the results screen came from. Can someone explain this or send me a tutorial/faq like the ones for dmc4?

Another question, should i be killing all enemies if im aiming for a s rank? (Talking about the enemies outside the "arena" with the seal that you can just skip)

Actually you can skip the enemies without seal..does not affect your S rank..from what i gather..you can check your battle report what you did right or wrong. They show you how they calculate the S rank. Compare to the mission that you got S rank to the one that you did not get S rank, see what is the one that you missing. For example i check, if you did not equip magazine for nero as you start a mission there is stylish points that count toward the final points. No DT use, also got you stylish points. All i can say look at the battle reports for all mission , all characters you will see what you need to get better stylish points
