REALLY looking forward to battle a Balrog in DMC5. How epic is that?
Matt Walker and Itsuno heavily implied it's a boss in the game and even hyped about it! (During a live conference)
Can't believe they chose to reserve it to a novel a small minority would read.
What a missed opportunity :(
The weapon is cool, it even speaks to Dante. So you'd think it would be a cool moment like Agni and Rudra or something.
There was a scene in one of the trailers with an explosion of fire from a long corridor- I was sure that's a Balrog.
How can one find and read the novel? Is it worth it? How long is it?

Because I started reading the summary in Wikipedia about the 5th novel and it sounds like it's going to have spoilers. Dunno if I could read further

Am I the only one who seriously thought for sure we are going to be fighting a huge Balrog Demon Boss with Dante - got excited - and deeply disappointed that we don't?
"Balrog seems to be enjoying himself and doesn’t even get angry when Dante dodges his attacks."
Sounds like such a cool and unique boss fight and script for cutscenes.
In the end he decides to stop fighting and gives himself to Dante as a weapon.
Balrog even speaks to Dante in the novel in weapon form and in-game as well!
How cool is that ?
It could have been eally fun fight to watch and play with them bantering, agitating each other and just having fun fighting. Until you win and Balrog submits of his own free will.
They really kinda teased it :
"We never had/shown a Balrog Demon before in DMC" and the way it was pronounced and phrased with the crowd reaction - was almost unmistakable "We have a new Balrog boss for you".
I can look it up, but I rather avoid YouTube as much as possible until I finish the game. Because freaking spoilers are everywhere.
Such a great boss idea Capcom, you already made a brand new weapon - why contain it in some book?
