As I said: "Even with the volume maxed out it feels way too low"
I suggest to turn down FX and voices, and then turn up your soundcard to compensate.
I was having the same issue on my new rig w/the onboard sound, where the music was low tincannish no matter how much I turned up the volume while the voices were ok.
I had bought these temp. cheap speakers and then yesterday when I plugged in the new/better (but still cheap, mind) speakers, it went away and it sounds great now. I didn't change drivers nor did I install my soundcard which also arrived yesterday. Only thing different was swapping speakers.
Seems weird the speakers would have that kind of affect (eg, not just re: sound quality but the volume mixing) but for me at least ... there it is. No clue why/what happened, lol.
P.S. "BassChamber" [pertinent nickname joke here]
If anyone's curious about what Im using, Asus Strix 7.1 headset, drivers up to date, and I must repeat its an issue encountered in DMC5 only.
I use a Turtle Beach Z11 headset and my audio driver is Realtek.
For some odd reason I cannot find the option for "sound equalization" no matter where I look, even though I have the same audio driver. (version 6.0.1.8302 - can't find newer version)
If anyone has any more ideas like finding a way to increase the volume beyond max on windows or through the game, please shoot!
Open sound control panel of windows while DMC5 is running, check sound volume of apps, and revert sound volume of DMC5 to 100%.
I think sound volume of DMC5 was automatically reduced as a result of answering a call while playing the game.
Go to whichever audio driver you're using under "Sound" in your windows settings and go to the properties tab. Then tic "Loudness Equalization". That made the opening music for me turn up on my Monitor Speakers. Don't know if it will work all the time but yea,
