Practice Royal Guard?
Hey, guys, I'm pretty new to DMC 5, I finished my first playthrough (normal difficulty) and I've been trying to practice Royal Guard, any tips or specific enemies/bosses I should practice on?
I've spent multiple hours trying to learn through Vergil and he's been kicking my a$$, thought there might be easier things to practice on before I go straight to him?

i would say the easiest normal enemies to practice are the proto angelos (knight enemies)
because of their slow telegraphed attacks. the best boss to practice without a doubt is cavaliere.
he has easy to block projectiles, and his attacks are pretty well telegraphed, too. also its just a great bossfight all around

you shouldnt reli on RG for normal enemies too much anyways. It's better to use it against bosses entireli, tho i wont stop you from learning every enemies timing, DMC rewards learing after all.
However the best bosses to practice are Vergil and Cavaliere as their attacks, in my opinion, have the best predictable Timing. For normal enemies you can practice with chaos as Royal Guard is very effective against those rolling rats

He should build the meter in higher difficulties if he doesn't want to deal with Fury's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

I dont feel too confident when using Royal Guard with fury, i always recommend parrys to stun him with cerberus

I meant for Royal Release after parrying him. It's the fastest way of getting rid of him.

why though? It's a single player game

I see
Well I'll stick with my standard stuff. Feels more confident for me.
By the way, I've noticed you've supported a lot of people here. Very nice, keep it up man!

Whatever you do, DON'T spam Royal Guard, it won't work haha. All enemies have different timings so I would suggest the void, I would really use it on normal enemies either as they are easily hit-stunned/dodged. The telltale for furies is when their arm-blade shines that means in about 1 second they will strike, I would more so suggest using Balrog to lock-on and ORA the ♥♥♥♥ out the air though, unless you want to get the Royal Release kill.
