And i want to ask. Similar to DMC in what way? It needs to have alot to get through in a terms of controls, or just few simple inputs but feels good to actually smash something.
Basically: What is fun(satisfying) for you?
What i find fun about dmc is that:
1. It doesn't matter how many hits I'm able to pull to the enemies, it's all about stylishness. The fact that i have to vary my attacks, switch styles (Dante) etc, etc.
2. The pacing, the combat doesn't drag, and is always a breeze to go through
3. The controls/inputs for move. I like how there's only one button for attacking, yet there's zo much k can do.
The thing i don't like in a typical hack n slash game is when they give you a "light attack" button and "heavy attack" button, and just tells you to mix them up for a combo
I cant even start the sentence. There is so much things to cover in this topic.
To the point:
You wont find anything better than DMC. Basically everything will feel worse as you expirienced the best. The same way i cant pursue my friends to play souls after finishing sekiro. It feels lackluster on mechanics.
But i just can give you some options that i played and liked.
Closest thing to DMC that i have in my mind:
1."METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGEANCE" (Closest one by gameplay. Needs weaponswap mod to fix the pace. Like dmc1) + Of course anything PlatinumGames related. "Vanquish" and such.
2."My Friend Pedro" Arent a slasher but a in a same way all about Style, great game.
3."Deadpool"(2013) Doesent have any advanced mechanics but extremely fun on its own. It is pulled from stores and the price for the redeemable codes infllated.
^That were the closest ones. Everything else is just far different slashers. Your second to try is Ninja Gaiden. There is also a bunch of Prince of Persia, Darksiders, God of War, etc. Wich all good.
Thats all i have on my mind. Its funny how slashers are either accused of being way to similar to eachother or they go out of slasher genre. The fresh perspective with a mechanics i saw lately was Genshin with character swaps and rotations + every character has his own shtick but the gacha aspect scared of a lot of people. I dont like it either but willing to grind through.
Gameplay is fun ))))))

Upcoming projects from Korea and China respectively.
Didn't expect to like it.
On surface, it looks like another 2 button hack n slash, but the way they handle the combos and holding down attacks is simply amazing.
Another game i found is "punishing gray raven (mobile game), some people call it a honkai impact rip off, but it brings some mechanics that are pretty fresh in the mobile market imo. The game tool inspiration from nier (and had a crossover event, i believe). The way the battle works is that as you attack, these "pings/mini special attack (red blue or yellow" appear, and if you have the more (max 3) the same coloured ping you have, the more effective the attack will be.
What i like about this is that it's very flexible, you can form a lot of combos with these (granted, you usually have to do certain combinations to make the characters more powerful, but that can be easily inserted into the combo). The only downside to the game is that it's a gacha game, but some people have said it's pretty f2p friendly
