Vergil only does one taunt?

Vergil seems to only do 1 taunt whenever im locked onto any enemy and doesnt do any other taunt. but if im not taunting does others...sometimes but the style doesnt build up. anyone else having this issue?

Nope, does various taunts for me (never really tested with Lock-on). I'd mainly recommend using the taunt where you stand completely still though, it grants you 4 bars of DT once completed.

each taunt gets you 4 bars? or is it that ex one?

Every character has a lock-on taunt in addition to their other taunts; stop locking on when taunting and he'll stop asking who's ready to die first

Sorry, I should have been more specific. No, only the default taunt where you stand completely still without Lock-on gives you 4 bars.
