Why Vergil reclaimer of his name ... ?
Can’t run away ... ?
Led astray ... ?
Spoiler alert, of course.
1. Vergil is the 'complete form' of Urizen, a godlike being (alpha) and V, a weak, sickly human (omega).
2. Vergil is both the first major villain, and last major villain in the DMC series up to 5. He is, then, the 'beginning and the end'; the Alpha and the Omega.
In the poem, Virgil is Dante's guide on his journey through the 9 circles of Hell.
DMC 5's narrative is built around the mythology of William Blake (The Book of Urizen, etc.).
It tells about the eternal struggle of opposites, such as emotionality and rationality, creativity and passivity, freedom and alienation, loneliness.
V also quotes poems such as: "When early morn walks forth in sober gray", "Infant Joy",
"Love and Harmony", etc..
You think the majority people who bought this know about poetry?
Vergil is the beginning and the end of Dante's character arc. He is instrumental to the overarching "sons of Sparda" plotline that weaves throughout the series.
Also it sounds really badass
V is one side of the story. Omega.
Urizen is the other half of the story. Alpha.
Virgil is both. In embracing his weakness he gains strength. In gaining strength he embraces weakness.
The only person other then myself that's that capable is Darth Vader. You just can't someone that's set their mind to a goal and getting it done with control. Not unless you pull a Luke or Nero and give them a reason to care.
