That's basically how I did it. I also beat Urizen with A on style meter and that should actually be enough to not have that fight affect the score negatively.
You need to try to keep your style score above 5K. Also there's an optional fight with an Empulsa Queen before the long corridor with the spinning Chaos enemies. Kill her at SSS style as that ups your style score by around 200. That's the only optional fight you should take in this level.
For some reason Mission 10 gives far lower Style scores than you'd usually get so it's much stricter. SSS rank every fight (outside of the solo Fury, I deleted that fucker with hell on earth).
Then i kept trying to S rank it while still taking a bit of damage,
The key for me was not to spam perfect judgement cuts too much and literally use every move in my arsenal in every fight.
The first 2 fights are hella important imo. You should end the first fight with Empusa with over 6000 points. The second fight will ALWAYS drop your score no matter what, you should aim to be above 5200 after that second fight... If you are lower than that you should restart.
I'm gonna replay the lvl because the poster above says there is an optional Empusa Queen, but i have played this lvl countless times and never seen it.
If you can't do it i don't mind recording or streaming to u or something. But aslong as u reach SSS rank fast, don't spam perfect judgements cuts too much and constantly use different, moves, even ones that u might never use, u should be able to make it!
In Urizen fight u can just use Deep stinger to instantly end the fight and still have enough points.
It really just comes down to which enemy gives you the most problem: Chaos, Proto Angelo, or Judecca. Use your nukes for that enemy, since this mission doesnt really have a boss fight. As long as you know how to fight and maintain SSS against Empusa Queens and at least one more of those enemies, S rank is achievable for this mission. You can also skip the 2nd Chaos room.
The best thing I did when first playing devil may cry 3 to practice was to turn off the music in combat, and focus on the sounds enemies make before they attack.
And, finally, to really decently in that mission, you have to not die. I can honestly tell you, that this mission is significantly easier as Vergil, than Dante. I had to cheat as Dante to score an S rank, since even If I didn't die, the scoring just kept reducing my score after each fight.
No damage sounds intimidating. But it’s Vergil we are talking about . Just do Selfie Judgement Cut and profit .
Selfie Judgement cut means Just Looking at your Character during Judgement Cutting . This game have very kind feature that enemy won’t attack you from Off Camera . So if you tweak your camera to only look at you they basically become paunch bags meanwhile Judgement Cut auto Track Enemies who are located in off camera . This is absolute cheese . Use this only if you want “S” but nothing more .
There are 2 Furies in this mission . No time to deal with their BS for No damage runs . So memorize their spawn location and one shot them with Hell on Earth . If you missed Hell on Earth to Furies , Deep Stinger is your Plan B .
As a Boss Fight , you only need to break Red Crystal . 2 x Deep Stinger can easily Destroy Crystal on DMD difficulty without using any brain .
Oh yeah .. there is one Proto Angelo just before Bossfight . This fker can block your JCs with his Long ass sword . How to fight this guy “No damage” without using any “brain cells” ? Answer is ... Hell on Earth 2 times :3 . But you know ? You need 2 x Deep stinger for boss fight just after this . So you need to conserve normal DT after this fight to refill your STD . Just note that . Don’t “Hell on Earth” him until you have conserved DT .
Ez No Damage x2.0 modifier . Ez mission 10 “S” Rank .
Pro tips
- Stay only in Airborne , the higher the better .
- Immediately pop Sin Devil Trigger during Judgement cutting and immediately end STD after this . Vergil’s STD free usage window is so high that you can do 3 JFJC in this free window . With this STD toggling , your JCs are stronger and track 3 enemies at once in off camera of course . Plus it’s free :3 !
- Void Slash can recover 1 and Half Block of DT if you don’t cancel it’s sheathing animation . No need to hit the enemies . Just mere presence of enemy is enough to restore DT . So if you are running out of DT gauge in Proto Angelo fight . Just Void Slash from 10 Miles .
Proto Angelo? Is there a proto Angelo in this mission?
And I'm not spamming perfect judgment cut, I only do them when they can rise my style rank( there is a cool down between repeated moves) . But I usually use SDT for the 3 free judgment cut without using any SDT, that does a LOT of damage, is that negatively affecting my score? I get S in every Fury encounter, I parry their atacks with Beowulf, it's not hard after memorizing his 3 atack patterns. I could get the no damage bonus, but the mission is so long that I usually screw up at least one time, specially in the Urizen fight. Also, the Urizen fight is the one where Dante gets divine sword Dante , so you have to kill him, not just brake his shield.
One more question, can I get the all S rank with vergil? If so, can I mix up with nero/v/Dante in other difficulties? I don't want to use a single character for every play through.
And It’s Devil Sword Dante . Not Divine Sword Dante xD . These two words are really diff .
Anyway , If you want Mission 10 S Rank as Dante cheese with Hat .

Yes it is. SDT triple judgement cut wipes out easier enemies even on DMD and if you are using it without already having high style you are significantly lowering your style rating. You should prefer more low damaging attacks that build style easily until you have high style meter then you can start murdering things with very damaging attacks.
Also if you are going for achievements you can't use Vergil. He doesn't unlock regular achievements, only his own.
You need to score 5,000+ style points in your first mandatory battle.
To do this, you need to get SSS by fighting the first optional enemies.
You must leave the last enemy alive and run for the obligatory battle.
It's good if you go to the first mandatory battle with rank A or higher and can fight the entire first mandatory battle with the SSS.
YEAH, IT'S MISSION 12! Sorry for the confusion guys, I couldn't see the "12" on my own print lol. I will edit the post.
OK got it, I will stop abusing SDT until I get SSS.
And god, getting all S with Dante and V is gonna be HARD, not sure if I want to bother with it. I really wanted to use mostly Vergil as he is so fun to play. Dante will take ages to master, and V gets boring fast with constant button mash.
Sorry for the confusion, it's really mission 12. Thanks for the help, I think I know what to do now.
Then If you do well on the stage boss S rank should come pretty easily.
You were talking about furies. There are no mandatory fury fights on mission 12.
This is the skip with Vergil:

I find it easier to get a boost from a wall jump first instead of directly jumping from a gargoyle head, but you do what works for you. Vergil has tons of good platforming options.
