Can i get achievements using Vergil?

I'm trying to get achievements with him, but idk if i can.

I know you can't do the one for getting all s-ranks with him. Then again he's pretty OP, so I should've known better.

AFAIK missions, difficulty, and bloody palace related stuff doesn't unlock for Vergil because he has his own set of achievements. Not sure if achievements like killing 1000 demons unlocks for him.

I completed the game once on Devil Hunter as Nero, V and Dante. Then I immediately jumped into Son of Sparda as Vergil and completed the game on that difficulty but the achievement did not show up for me. Also kiled Urizen in the prologue with Vergil but achievement only showed up for me when I killed Urizen in prologue with Nero (in Human difficulty). I'm convinced that if the achievement does not specifically include Vergil in it, you can't unlock it with Vergil.

yeah,, im not sure im just now on mission 6 and im noticing i am not getting achievments, so this sucks.. ive played the game before but just got this game again from the winter sale, and also got vergil and i figured ill play with vergil first since ive completed it before on other platforms, but i gotten to mission 6 and i am not gettin any achievments, and i felt ive gone too far already to start over and use someone else.. i guess ill finish it first, and then finish the game with dante again.

edit: the only achievments i did get with vergil was character upgrades...

Anything that's not specific to Nero, Dante or V (or their mission paths) can be unlocked with Vergil. Because of the way the All S Ranks achievement works though you'll need to get that one with the main cast I believe, same with the Urizen fight, although I might've unlocked the one for killing him early with Vergil.. can't remember tbh.
You can unlock the difficulty clear ones though, that is, beating Devil Hunter, Son of Sparda, etc. since that's just getting the clear screen.

Otherwise, yeah, you can get any other achievement that doesn't fall under those categories.

Incorrect. Like Alibaba said. Finished DMD with Vergil and did not get the achievement for clearing it. For sure something to keep in mind if going for those achievements

My bad then, I could've sworn that was the case but yeah definitely something to keep in mind.
